I know that these three players can split opinion on this forum, but today, I was struck by the fact that these three lads would be first team starters in almost any other team in this division, and yet they sit on our bench, week in, week out. All three came on today and all three had incredible energy and pace, and caused problems (even big Leon has pace for a big lad). I can't remember the last time our bench was this strong, long may it continue.

Never doubted Scougalls class, his resurgance has been pivotal to our season.

Well done to Lavery.

It was a bit of a free shot today for an attacking player coming off the bench but he did well, he was a threat. He could've had a hat trick in the end. He's a direct threat with the ball and that's what we lack.

He should have done better with the first chance he had with the ball from Duffy though, and maybe he should've played Duffy in for a possible hat trick.

He will keep getting better in my opinion. Could be a very good player in 2nd half of the season

Agree!

I thought the lads confidence lifted visibly after he scuffed that goal in. He looked a real threat after that and I think there's goals in him. Which is why I think we should replace Done with him up front but play Done instead of Lafferty as an attacking wide midfielder.

Am I allowed such an opinion or should I just keep quiet about suggesting Done isn't a striker but Lavery is?

I don't like the negativity and villainizing of Leon Clarke. He came here carrying an injury, played through the pain trying to help out club out whilst we were struggling for form and now he's trying to feel his way back into football.

He's shown in glimpses (Chesterfield, Grimsby) of what he can potentially offer this side and he possesses attributes that we lack in that area of the field. He bagged 20 last season in a weak Bury team. If Sharp gets injured I would have absolutely no qualms seeing Leon go in and given a run of games Sharp may even find it difficult to dislodge him. For now though, they don't work as a pair due to the lack of mobility. But that's fine, he's a great option to have. Let's just fully get behind him.

We've won a game with Done in the team so now he's absolutely untouchable.

I do think Lavery should be starting alongside Sharp though sooner rather than later. He's a threat with the ball and is energetic too.

But I'd not have Done at LWB. He'd offer less than Lafferty and Hussey. It's not like he'd chip in with goals!

I think it will happen. Was good to see all 4 strikers offering something today. They will all have a part to play this season (unless we sign Ched)

The pretty valid view that Sharp & Clarke don't work together as a pairing should not in any way be seen as "villainizing" Clarke in case that's what you're suggesting has happened. Clarke is a good player, has a clear goal scoring record at this level, and has some attributes that none of the other strikers have. When he and Sharp are paired together, both look poorer players for it.

Were Sharp out injured Clarke would be who I'd replace him with. He will get opportunities to play, and I think he is a really useful option to have on the bench.

Praise for Kev & The Prince for providing the bunce, and Wilder for finding the right players.

I kinda see where this comes from.

But the undeniable truth remains.

Lavery on for Done = weakening the side.

Scoogs on for Duffy = weakening the side.

Clarke on for Sharp ..............

And I don't agree that the 3 would be shoehorns in any other L1 side at all.

They all sit on the bench for very good reasons that were very clear to see for all in attendance yesterday.

The last time our bench was this strong was two weeks ago when Chapman was on it! but t I do agree graps with what you say.

Of course you are allowed that opinion, but I'm also allowed to disagree... and say that Done is never, and will never, be a left wing back.

I have to go with Dronnie here and with Lavery in particular, he has an awful lot of work to do to be considered a first choice.

If Done gets a few goals Lavery will be just an impact sub.
