Chris Wilder: genius.

Good but would be better with the sausage roll dumped in two inches of stale beer with a tab end floating in it!

His interviews. I don't think he picks the players but I think there's a club strategy permeating down from him. There's a clear strategy independent of the manager that the manager has to fit into. It's not just here's the budget do what you want.

If he has no input into player selection how can he have a DOF role? That’s the main responsibility. The finance element is secondary surely?

I think the DOF role is to be in charge o fong term strategic planning across the whole club independent of fly by night football staff. That planning does include players. I think he has some input in that but not as much as some DOF do at other clubs. He talks about the typology and general profile of players we are looking at (and the sales strategy), but I doubt he says we'll sanction A but not C if both are within budget (and fit the general profile). I think the manager and the transfer committee (if that still exists post PA) have that power.

2 points clear at the top of the championship not fine enough ?

(bar the deduction)

Eventually you reach an age when you realise that there are differences between dreams and reality.

How many times did Wilder shit himself in the PL when we finished 9th ?
He didn't, and that's my point

wilder was quite right to point out that our 125m squad was assembled thanks to our achievments in the last 8 years and totally disrespectful by rohl to highlight it as though it had just been spent by our new owners it was earned and rohls an idiot for suggesting otherwise

Wilder out thought Röhl tactically today. He knew Röhl was going to set his team up to be physical and knew we'd have to weather the storm for 15 minutes. Then it was just a case of waiting for the right moment.

WIlder made the right call with Brewster. The only positive change Röhl made was bringing Valery on, but that was forced on him by Lowes injury anyway
Let’s face it, lining up with a couple of limited shithouses like Smith and especially ‘Pato’ hardly made them 1970s Brazil either.

Also not clear why he had Max Lowe at centre half in the first place when Iorfa and Ihiekwe are both centre backs and he had Valentin in the squad. Just looks like he’s trying to be too clever or to make a point.

Rob on RS last night didn't go into his usual 5/10 minutes opening monologue/agenda set, almost nothing on the result, and nothing on the Wilder interview.
When he saw the way the show was going and the Wendy coming on were incensed at Wilder,he eventually played the devil's advocate card, his club, passion, derby win.The only thing he felt safe to be opinionated on was the throwing stuff,of course both sets to blame.
It's curious how Wendy have for decades gone down their history route to claim the better club than thee high ground, but when they got faced with Wilders alternative take on history, they couldn't stomach it,that's how two faced and one eyed they are,and they got it all thrown back in their faces good and proper.
.
The whole purpose of winning the derby is sticking it to the other lot when you win and Chris did that with jam on top.

Good on him. To the winner go the spoils.

Rohl played the ‘wait until we get you at our place’ card and it backfired. It just bought him time. In derby terms that time has run out as Chris went and beat him again for good measure.

He said some slightly underhanded things in the build up, gave little credit so he got it back with interest post-match. Life comes at you fast sometimes!

From what I've heard from Sausage Rohl and his comments, he often comes across as egotistical, genuinely in love with himself, capable of making snide comments, and a little bit immature. Still hes got a nice dollop of hair swished to one side on his perfectly shampooed barnett so that's all good.

He's just a young man who's starting out in football management and life in general really, and he has a lot to learn about both. Wilder has schooled him this season like a headmaster with a naughty pupil. Wilder maybe gave him lines to do on Sunday night as a punishment - 'and I want that on my desk first thing on Monday morning, young Sausage' said Wilder'.

He’s a young man learning his way against an experienced professional. Unlucky for him the experienced professional is arguably Sheffield United greatest manager and a Sheffield United fan.

Rohl is learning but I never see a style of play with them, I don’t even know if they try and keep the ball and just long ball it. I think he’s had his ego inflated by Wednesday fans and realistically he’s just another Alex Neil / Lee Johnson but with more hair and younger.

I think Lowe has been playing at centre half for them for a while and has been a bit of a revelation. I don't think Iorfa and Ihiekwe are any great shakes

The legend of sausage roll though. I am starting to wonder exactly if he's all that. Right now he's got a mid table squad, mid table.

Maxis probably competent when it comes to the rest of their defence. I’m sure he’d have been just as consistent if playing his actual position.

It just smacks of him trying to be too smart.

Not saying those two centre backs are any great shakes but they are centre backs and they did both start anyway.

Now Iorfa might be a centre back or right back but Lowe isn’t a centre half, even if he had been doing a game job there.

It seems a defence of Valentin, Iorfa, Ihiekwe and Lowe would have been no less effective at the very least with all in their preferred positions, than having Lowe out of position at centre half and Iorfa at right back when he’s played at centre back more recently.

Also having fat lad Patterson up against Seriki, one of our quickest players seemed ill thought beyond the first 15 minutes where he might have thought he’d give him a rough ride physically.

Speaking of the latter, it was a cowardly act kicking the ball against Brereton-Diaz’s head when he was laid on the floor, not to mention dangerous. It was harsh on BBD to get a yellow when Patterson did. Who wouldn’t react angrily to that?

It’s far from a shithouse thing to do, it’s simply cowardly.

Patersons only purpose seemed to be to try and kick us and get stuck in. He inevitably and deservedly got booked. Not sure what his game is apart from running around a lot and ruffling feathers. They clearly targeted Seriki, but it didn't work and he came through it well.

Dunno why Röhl adopted those tactics. I mean Robbo and Anel are two experienced top end Championship centre halves, they've seen that sort of thing loads of times before against better forwards. Anyway who cares, we won

'Genius' Rohl needed 52 assistants and 24 laptops to use Warnock tactics 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ironically, Hecky could be the nearest thing they have to Wilder - 'Ex player' (ish), young enough and currently in a job that's a comparable level. Maybe that the root of the Wilder hate. Simple jealously. They just don't have One of their own.

Not sure where this is from but Hecky literally played for them for 2 years and won promotion via the play offs in League 1 with them?
