Yes Ampadu is not good enough in the air and it is not Bash's strength. Robinson not good enough either. That leaves poor Egan pretty much on his own for the high balls, specially if McB not playing. We soooo miss JOC. We have to plug that gap somehow. it has cost us so many goals and games this season.

I said at the time that it was soft as shit but if we’d done the same away against Man U they’d have been given a VAR free kick for the arms in the back/on shoulders.

It just shows the knock on effect of losing your most dominent defender in the air. Suddenly every single player is marking a bigger threat than they would've been. Just on today with JOC playing I'd imagine Egan would've been picking up Basham's man, he's definitely more aggressive and dominent.

Not having another dominant defender is just killing us. Egan is good in the air, Basham isn't bad but he isn't strong enough to deal with really physical players. After that we've no one (without McBurnie) who can be relied upon to win a dual in either box.
