Only on a short term loan with Wigan.

Surely he'd rather be part of the love in at the lane?

Lost 3 nil at home to charlton tonight in front of 11 thousand

Or has that ship sailed

Agree with the above but if a good player who will improve the team is available to help the cause should we persue it? Get the feeling already though it may cause upset among fans, could do the same to the team I suppose

I don't get the hatred shown towards HM, can someone explain? He probably trebled his money and had the thought that he'd be playing premiership football. I'd do exactly the same in a heartbeat. The thought of playing at Old Trafford or a half full shed in league 1.

My take is we can't go through life using vague grudges as reasons for not wanting ex players back at the lane. It's no different to that tired old chestnut about a player once playing for wendy. Give it a rest, it's tiresome. If a loan were ever on the cards we should embrace it, but it won't because we're in this division, not the Championship.

I can understand the reasons for disliking a player, but it's very much of the cutting your nose to spite your face school of behaviour. Surely we're above that aren't we? Or do we punish ourselves every time an ex employee becomes available? Strikes me as beyond daft.

No No No
When he signed for Hull he knew the options!
Did he ask Bruce if he would be considered for the 1st X1
Didn't Bruce sign Dawson after Harry ?
He'll finish up a washed out bottom Championship L1 (Div 3 to us older ones) player at best !
Chase the £££££ Face up to the consequences
Ask John Brayford - A gentleman and a footballer !

Why should we throw a life line to a greedy so a n d so that doesn't give a toss about us? We're on our way up, he's on his way down, stuff him.

So you have never left a job for more money? Or you wouldn't leave your current job if someone else offered you a nice pay rise?

Professional footballers want to play at the highest level possible, so when you get the chance, you back yourself and have confidence in your ability to succeed. The fact is Harry has nothing to prove at league one level, so it was best for his career to leave, maybe a move to the championship would have been better but I don't blame him for having a crack at the premiership with Hull.

While ever we're in league one, we'll continue to lose our best players cause they'll need to make that next step in their career. If we don't go up this season, I think we'll be very lucky to keep hold of murphy so it's very important we get up this season.

Harry made his choice so if rotting on benches is the consequence so be it it's his problem not ours. time for us to stop looking back at past players

Like some others on this thread, I cannot understand this antipathy towards HM. Was Harry born in Sheffield? Check. Does he go and see United when he can? Check. Is he a 'Blade at heart'? (Unlike Harry Kane in his Arsenal shirt) Check. Sounds a lot like Kyle Walker, then!

For those who think it's as simple as 'He just went for the money', have a read of 'The Secret Footballer' which outlines the many forces at play in any transfer.

And by all accounts spotted at a recent cup game, sitting with the fans at BDTBL, signing autographs / photos and generally being very friendly considering the barrage of personal abuse he's had since he left.

He prob tripled his salary - everyone here would have done the same!

Ahhh the usual vindictive streak comes out of the usual people. Blokes taken an opportunity to better himself so why would anyone knock him for that. Without ambition what is the point?

itsinyerblood , i don't think its hatred or holding grudges against Harry . Everybody's thoughts were for the lad and the club . For career progression he would have been better staying at SUFC for another season or two , and being part of a promotion push. In saying that , pre-season and at the beginning of the season we looked a little bit in disarray .

Going to Hull was a mistake , as sooner or later i can see them being on free fall , like Wigan.

It was not Harrys fault , we didn't sign a replacement , but the transfer dragged on , and time passed us by. If he came back on loan , then great , Mr Clough knows what he is doing , and we go with it,

IMO , i am tired of discussing Harry , he is in the past and gone . If the future brings him back , when we are in the championship , then great.

Harry will always have a smile on his face , when he goes to Crystal Peaks and uses the cash machine to check his bank balance , which will look a lot healthier than mine.

It's not all about money for some people though is it? Sometimes it's about where you belong.
Ask John Brayford.

If he did come back, I wonder how many games it would take before he thought 'Maybe there's more to life than money' :)

1889 . Money is not everything , but it helps. He would think what you say , if we are successful , winning , and in the championship.

I used to have a degree of loyalty to my employers, but having been through redundancy and seeing how quickly you can be dropped, am afraid that loyalty wore off a bit. If I factored in that my career would have most likely been over at 35ish, that the opportunities to earn stupid amounts of money on a weekly basis were available and would come hand in hand with the potential of industry success... Not sure how that would affect my decision making. Age and experience have given me a different perspective, but in my early 20s?? I don't think I would ever rush to criticise someone for trying to make the best for themselves and maybe their families. As a fan though, Forever Blades.

Although I must add... The Beard to Be Feared has restored a degree of faith that not ALL of football has been tainted by filthy cash.

You could say that Brayford has learnt his lesson after leaving Derby to chase the money at Cardiff. If the Hull move doesn't work out in the end for Harry, maybe he will have learnt the same lesson?

As much as I like Brayford I hardly think he's volunteering to play for us. He'll be earning a massive amount of money for a league one player whether he's taken a pay cut to come here or not. Speculation about amounts is not something I want to get into but rest assured he'll be happy when he logs on to his bank account like Harry will.

Yes it would have been great for us to keep him. But I can't agree that Harry would have been better to stay with us.

He had already proved by being in 3 PFA League One team of the years that he is clearly too good for this division so why stay in it another season?

He should have gone to the Championship, but can't blame him for having a crack at the premiership cause he might never get that chance to play at that level again if he turns it down.
