Ched Evans' Hat Trick

Trig, sadly my footballing knowledge has been proved time and time again.
With Chedwyn, his 'abilities' and 'performances' were called over a year ago.
It hurts some posters that I'm consistently right but I don't hold your ignorance against you.
What I do really resent is an individual like Evans getting rich off the back of our club and doing bugger all to justify it.
That sort of thing would stink in any walk of life.

U are so far up ur own backside its untrue!! Its not his fault we forked out the cash for him, whats he suppose to do if we slap say 20k a week in front of him!

For me, he is now a lot more confident, and GIVEN good supply he will hit the net just as he has done the last couple pf games.

Len, ur just a sour faced bitter old man!

No but it is his fault he's done ferk all for his money.
If he'd been on 20 quid a week his performances would still have been pathetic.
That he's been on £20k is just shameful both for United and for him.

Starting to justify his cost? Yeah right, £5m down, more to come, and you think he's starting to justify his cost?
In yer ferking dreams son.
And there's nothing remotely unfair about calling a bloke who generally walks around a football pitch doing ferk all while accepting millions in pay a complete and utter disgrace to the shirt.

Well that certainly made Bert laugh, Trig getting called "son", that must have made your day Trig.

nb. When Bert texted Bert Jnr to tell him that Chedwyn has scored the spell check on his Blackberry came up with the word "chutney" instead of Chedwyn

That's because constantly calling people "son" in their posts makes the poster feel mature, even if they are in fact younger than the person they are patronising. Mind you, age isn't always an indicator of someone's maturity. I'm 42, which I reckon is actually older than lenners, but I still enjoy life, especially dodgy jokes like some of the posts here, rather than viewing it with a miserable Meldrewish attitude every minute of every day. And if he gets to feel all grown-up by calling people "son" then let him get on with it. Referring to someone who isn't his offspring as "son" wouldn't be the first time he's been wrong.

Unless of course he has shagged all our mothers. Until he gets a Tardis he's not shagged mine. You'd need scuba gear to have a go now anyway, considering her ashes are at the bottom of the sea. And probably a sieve too.

oh you're on about ched.. i thought you were on about monty and quinn

i take it you have just read about United from the forums rather than going to the matches yourself because that is is almost a 'Curtis' type post from Blades Mad.

Just to humour you, please explain how the performance of one player can cost the job of 3 men, when one was sacked, one resigned, and the 'third' isn't a permanant manager ?

To answerthe points individually:

I have watched the Blades consistantlyb since 1959 and have held a season ticket for more than 20 seasons therefore my opinions are formed from first hand observations.

As for manager's jobs, Blackwell was sacked, Speed jumped before he was pushed and United's failings yesterday did nothing to help Carver's chances of taking over being minimal.

Ched's own obvious lack of interest in what's going on around him reduces team morale of those whoare working their socks off around him, particularly when they are paid a fraction of what he's getting. People are more likely to forgive a lack of form in a player than a lack of interest.

Leading scorer, 2 goals yesterday, 3 goals in 2 games, yet is still shit, c'est la vie..

I should add that I am not looking for sympathy for the managers, just stating that their inability to motivate Ched but yet keeping him in their team selection aided their own downfall. A decent manager would have sorted him out or moved him on. Brian Clough was the best example. He (or Peter Taylor) bought a number of players then sold them on quickly when he found out they weren't up to his required standard. I don't think either Dave Basset or Neil Warnock would have put up with Ched's lack of interest either but I'm sure that they were more forcefull in their motivation methods than our recent crop of managers.

Ched Evans is an enigma
I believe he will be useful in a good team but his team ethics are very poor
His work rate is not acceptable in a poor side
And at this present time we are a very very poor side
My hope is that he scores some goals in the next few games and then we could sell him on as quickly as possible in January
We need like minded players to build a 'team' Ched is not like minded to the majority that is left!

Can anyone come up with a striker for Sheffield United that has looked less interested or alert? I can think of only one: Barry Hayles and he was shown the door pretty quickly.

There have been dozens, Bert will start you off with Ian Rush.

Jeff Bourne,Mike Guy,Dougie Brown,Paul Williams. I am sure others will add more
