Good result away at top of the table. I only saw a handful of minutes here and there, but looks like the team is gelling.

I watched the game and Blades were by far the best team in first half and held their own in the second. Draw fair result in the end.

They cant give the mens team a few tips can they on how to gel as a team?

Bit of a write-up here with some thoughts on the start of the season as a whole. Team's pretty good and actually looks really well-coached considering they've already had to change manager.

Do we know why the manager changed?

No. Was reported as suspended and then the club announced a mutual termination a few weeks later: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...field-united-women-head-coach-leaves-football

Thompson himself posted a farewell / thanks message on Twitter, which gives me hope that this was more footballing-related than Jonathan Morgan's sacking from a few seasons ago:

I don't think there's anything suspicious in changing a manager who won one game and finished bottom of the league the previous season, but obviously the timing and the lack of communication around it raises questions.

I'm getting more and more interested in the Womens team this year. Having the games available to watch on Youtube helps but it feels like they've recruited well and are building a proper team (performances seem to be getting better week on week)

Hopefully, the mens team follow suit and both blades teams start climbing the tables

Do you not think there's something suspiscious in suspending a manager before terminating his contract? Surely you just sack him if its football related - suspension woud suggest some form of investigation was needed?

I'm loathe to speculate although yes it's pretty clear that there must have been some kind of internal investigation that resulted in an end to his tenure. What I mean is that maybe this was more an investigation into football-related issues than say, the kind of safeguarding issue that led to Jonathan Morgan being sacked. The club's own statement on Morgan specifically referred to his conduct (at a previous club, but still conduct) and his position being untenable, whereas here they thanked Thompson etc and presented it as amicable. There's also (so far, at least) been no further reporting into what happened here, which again was not the case with Morgan.

Fingers crossed.

It’s just an awkward look suspending the last two managers first.

The most recent incumbent has seen them do a bit better which is encouraging.
