He's the unlikeliest of heroes.
A Leon cuddly toy, half man half bear would sell shit loads in the shop.

I've run out of superlatives to describe him this season. As I can't remember Deane in his prime I can honestly say this season he has been performing better than any other striker I have ever seen in a Blades shirt, and I include Beattie (first time) and Ched (that one season) in that. He is simply magnificent. Has there ever been such a stunning turnaround this late on in someone's career before?

I can only offer you the name of Bob Booker, who answered our call late in his career

I think even a grizzly would think twice of going up against Leon.

Running defences ragged week after week.

His fitness level is incredible, his work rate is incredible, and his confidence is sky high.

Got the armband when Sharp went off, despite having O’Connell, Basham, Wright, Lundstram, Fleck on the pitch.

The turnaround of Leon over the past 18 months is utterly unbelievable.

If some ‘bean counter’ would care to do the math, probably the best £100k (relatively) UTD have ever spent?

Don’t know if anyone else noticed but he was penalised for literally nothing in their area and it really did piss him off but he bit trotted off mumbling to himself and cracked on, the old Leon would have had a pop, then another then get booked and then go missing for the remainder of the game with the face on..

I mean it’s a bit odd congratulating a 32 year old on growing up but he really has..

I remember when we gave a striker the armband in summer 2016 and the pound-shop pundits were all in agreement like nodding dogs that it was a "Bladey" move.

Funny that.

you're going over the top now Tyler.. most people thought it was a masterstroke.. remember when Adkins made mceveley captain? .. it all went tits up from that moment

Wilder has repeatedly named 3 players who demand 'the highest of standards' from themselves and their team mates. Sharp, Coutts and Clarke.

Not remotely surprised he got the armband when Billy went off, even with Bash and Wright still in the field.
