Would be a brilliant signing, plenty of room for improvement despite his terrific start, looks to be really pacey too

I'd be tempted to try and sign the pair of them, Clarke may be no great shakes but he's better than what we have and there's something to be said for buying a ready made partnership.

But surely if he wants to go to a bigger club on higher wages they cant stand in his way ..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Oh wait thats us ;)

The one fatal flaw in trying to sign both of them is that in all probability we can't afford either of them.

Well there's that, obviously, but we appear to have strayed unwittingly into a parallel 'money no object' universe today given all the speculation flying about.

I was thinking something similar. Only more along the lines of "a day on the farm with all the bullshit flying around".

Aren't they in administration? They should swoon at the colour of our money. Much like we do at everyone else's.
Due to the cosy little deal the Football League has done, the part that owns the Golden Share and the players are not in administration.

They have said they will finance the shortfall for their time in Northampton.

It isn't clear that they are willing to sell any players.

My bet is we don't get Wilson or Clarke

What a fucking joke. If you are in administration, you shouldn't be allowed to reject bids. You should be showing every will in the world to rectify the shit management that has gone on before.

Maybe they think keeping their better players is going to rectify the situation. I wish the Blades thought like that a bit more.

The "shouldn't be allowed" bit is the FL shouldn't be allowed to hand over the Golden Share to a club that clearly flouted the rules and deliberately put a subsidiary into administration to avoid paying ACL rent. Also I think they have fudged the bit about players contracts being in Coventry Holdings rather than Coventry City FC.

Otium now owns the Golden Share. They have got away with murder. They (SISU, their owners) don't give a fuck about any previous mismanagement, they will now carry on regardless albeit with a 10 point penalty.

They will almost certainly avoid Portsmouth's fate and stay up and it wouldn't surprise me if they got into the top 6.

If they do, I can see clubs suing the Football League for its actions. And quite rightly in my view

Interesting article I've just seen below, is there a touch of Beattie flu going down in Coventry ?

“Andy Webster, Blair Adams, Leon Clark, and Callum Wilson have all supposedly picked up injuries before the fixture that could see Coventry City reach zero points this weekend.

The fact that three of them could raise funds for a club suffering from a severe cash short-fall due to lower than expected attendance is purely coincidental I'm sure....”
