A match against a team battling relegation who we beat comfortably in November (having been pegged back by a wonder strike) managed by an ex Blade called Nigel who underachieved here and left under a cloud…..Don’t have to look too far back in the annals to see what a bit of complacency can do in this scenario!

Have to be bang on it from the off on Sat, this will not be an easy game against a dour manager who will set up to frustrate.

Fans need to stay positive regardless!

I hope there is no complancency, Burton are making a real fight of staying up with the odds stacked against them and are well capable on their day. After the rocket they have received after the Hull game, I would doubt the Blades would put in anything less than 100%.

Ease off at all and we'll slip up. The players have to be at it 100%. Burton are capable of pulling off surprise away wins.

And then there's the FLN factor. Please don't let him win here again as he did on that pitiful night when Adkins was manager.

Warning noted.

A game where we (players and fans) will need to be patient as they'll look to defend as deep as they can and break quickly given the opportunity. It will be key to not over commit men forward or be wasteful in possession. You have to expect we'll create enough chances with the need to go gung ho!

As per usual the pre match talk will be all about Nigel Clough's return.

In my opinion it's all about Paul Coutts. That was a horrific 'tackle' and injury and has set back our season.

We could well have been up there with Wolves if it hadn't happened.

The best way to repay them is out on the pitch. Our mission on Saturday is to take 3 points from Burton and improve the opportunity for Paul Coutts to play in the Premier league next season.

Burton have only picked up 9 points at home this season which shows how dangerous they can be away. No surprise that a Clough side doing better on the road and I feel it's going to be difficult on Saturday.

I guarantee you they will barely have a sniff at goal all day, but they will score.

I remember that. The satisfaction on their faces was a bitter pill to swallow, I don’t want to have to do it again!!

Another performance like last night and we should be ok?!

Disagree
Wilder just needs to pick between 9-11 players with some experience in some key positions to guarantee 3 points.

Fans can be as negative as they want.

Won’t even need to break a sweat.

At the moment, it's only a hope that this is on!

I hope that the Hull performance has driven out any chance of complacency from these players now. Based on last night I expect another focussed performance.

Time to kick on.

Agree. This match needs the complacency warning, lest we knock off because thoughts are of Fulham on Tuesday. Need a couple of early goals, then should be OK.

Frustrate them and the big crowd will be very quiet, and potentially turn on their team.

That's what neggy Nigel's team talk will be.

As said by OP, need to be patient and remain positive.

neggy nige’s team talk will be go for a draw a win is a bonus.. corner flag in5th minute

we're in a different position now than on our previous meetings with Burton, but any result is possible in this league. Can't see anything but a homewin if we play to our strenghts.

Surprised at that comment, I didn’t think the tackle was a bad one. It was clumsy, but it looked an honest attempt to block the shot to me and the momentum of Coutts’ leg from the shot did the damage.

I do think we’d be at least 7-10 points better off had the injury not happened which would have us right in the automatic mixer. Although even without Coutts, when you consider that if we had collected the 5-7 points from the Birmingham, Villa and Bristol C games at home which we deserved, we would still be in the chase for autos and our play off spot would look fairly secure. It’s really fine margins. I have to conclude that with a bit more financial support Wilder may well have taken us up this year. Such a shame we don’t have the financial muscle to go with one of the the best managers in the division.

On the one hand I feel we can and will win this game.

On the other, I am getting a real "Bolton-at-home" kind of morbid chilling feeling

I'd settle for a re run of the bury game from last season .
so long as we get the points it doesn't matter how at this stage of the season.
