Everyone is saying lack of quality or tactics etc, but is what we are seeing actually burn out? between 2-4 good seasons with most of these players, playing a high press quick tempo game, this helped bridge the gap between the quality of the leagues. Everyone talks how how Bielsa and even Guardiola after 3 years burns the team out by the way they play football. Is this possible that Chris has done this with our very own? lets be honest they have had to play out of their skins to achieve what they have, is this spine of this team done? once relegated total rebuild around the new signings minus a couple who will be sold?

Each to their opinion mate. But the way they are pampered by physios and top coaches etc I don’t think any professional footballers would be able to burn out.

Our intensity has visibly dropped. The ball is not moved as quickly as it was.

Collectively, the players just don’t appear, to my eye at least, to have the speed strength and stamina that they once demonstrated in abundance.

You have to ask why ?

Suspicion would be the full tilt training sessions that have previously achieved the objectives required, but may well now come in to question !

Wilder looks like a man who has had enough and can’t take any more.Hardly surprising with the amount of effort and stress
It catches up with the best of us

Sad to see him go. I would rather he took a step back, rested and came back fresh next season

You can only run a 900 cc engine on high octane fuel for so long, I suspect that’s what’s happened for both first team and manager

The one characteristic of the promotion side was their resilience and lack of injuries. They carried that into the pre lockdown season and then...... I’ve no idea what happened but players were breaking down left right and centre. Don’t know if anyone saw the Jonny Wilkinson episode with Bear Ghryls but he said his injury rate was horrendous until
he went to France. He was happy, relaxed and played 3 seasons without a niggle. I suspect everything about the squad was tense and unhappy and that must have had something to do with the injury rates we have suffered. Oh, and I exclude Mousset from that theory - he would tweak a muscle pulling his shirt on
