Am I allowed to comment yet? It is about 10 hours since the game finished. Is that within allowable limits to lambast him? Please let me know.

Am I allowed to say that this one was easily the worst of the lot?

What an awful side we are - Bunn only tip of iceberg. Impossible to know where to begin but I'll start with a manager who practices anti-football. Defence now looks shambolic. Harper has barely made any difference and Evans is not a deep lying striker imo.

Wonder if McCabe was there to hear the fans taking the piss out of the team?

Those who don't remember Andy Leaning's playing days over 20 years ago are experiencing something new. Our first choice keeper isn't that good.

Fair point Rev! Bennett has to play Saturday though doesn't he? Not that changes your comment at all.

In fairness, Wright made Bunn look like a great keeper

It might be that he is just having a bad time at the moment, all goal keepers go through this as do all players. No one will dispute the errors, but 'lets not throw the baby out with the bath water'. It was a bad night at the office (sorry for becoming Mr Cliche), lets take the positives, we didnt give up and we didnt lose, Little had a big impact and the vast majority of the crowd were supportive of Mr Cresswell, he is after all now a Blade and here for two years.

Finally a proper bleedin' opinion!

The long distance goal for me was the defences/midfields fault not Bunns...

I completely agree robbie. Our defence isnt a patch on last season, and at the end of the day the defence is exactly that a defence. They are there to protect the keeper. Leadbetter should never have got the shot away.

I like Bunn but that goal seemed to trickle in past his fingers.
Was Killa injured in the previous attack, leaving him unable to compete? Davies isnt a good replacement, Walker, despite people unfathomably deciding he was better than Naughton, clearly isnt, the pilloried Naysmith is sadly missed as Taylor is a decent enough player but not without his faults. The defence was the key last season and its looking shaky. Terrible free header for the third goal.

Bunns positiong was good but it was a long stretch to get to the ball. Killas wasn't.

But at the same point, it shouldn't have got to Killa.

Collective of errors, starting with the midfield.

Well i've got to say i thought he was at fault for the 2nd goal as he was on saturday and was for wendys second. However its not all him no, i thought morgs was at fault for the third and the 1st was just a joke. Anyway we didn't give up but our game plan worries me Doncaster can play football and will beat us if we play like that, Ipswich were poor very poor that was proven by us getting an undeserved draw. Sorry to be mr negative but talk about after the lord mayors show having 2 very poor performances in fact let me change that 2 and a half poor performances after a great 1st 45 against the piggys. We went into that game last night with no tactics no plan B because all we had to do was turn up not the case obviously. Blackie didn't turn up to the post match press conference because he was probably to embarrassed that his own fans we cheering when we put 3 passes together and then when we did look what happened we looked good and dangerous we have 4 or 5 players in the 6 in front of the defence who can play football and want to play football (harper, evans, quinn, little and cotts) only problem is blackwell doesn't know how to practice football in training so he won't know what to do.

Its to many games now that we have played poorly in fact lets be honest we haven't looked good all season except the reading game

Don't say that, the S24SU who posts on Blades Mad and owns this site will kill you!

I'm tempted to ban you for merely suggesting that I could be that poster! :D

Last night was a night of very few positives. For me the biggest one was seeing Quinn have a pretty decent game.

I like the idea of Harper and Little being on the pitch together. I think they have enough influence on the team to start playing football and ignore what ever rubbish blackwell shouts at them all!

Sitting on the south stand I get pretty bored of hearing Blackwell constantly screaming at Cotterill, no matter how bad hes playing, thats poor man management.

we have a front line worth 6 million.. a backline to die for and a midfield worth nothing.

Yes, Bunn should have saved it and he has made a couple of mistakes in the last 2 games, that can't be excused but looking at the bigger picture; the soft goals he has conceded shouldn't have even had the chance to be conceded in the first place.

The second goal at Swansea: Butler picks it up, runs about 20 yards without anybody looking to pressure him or even go near him. He hits hit from about 25 yards and it trickles in. Bunn to blame for letting it in, yes. Defence/midfield even more to blame for allowing the opportunity, yes!

I'm not defending Bunn for the mistakes he made, but we have to be concerned how easy it has been for the oppositions midfielder to get these opportunities so comfortably.

Daz makes a good point here. Bunn has made 3 bad mistakes in the last 3 games (2 have possibly cost us points). However he could end up being the Lee Harvey Oswald of our current performances. I am concerned that he is slow at getting down to the ball and has let a few howlers in. However, the whole team have been awful. School boy defending and silly individual errors have lead to us losing 3 in the last 4. Yes Bunn is to blame, but only partly. Blackwell and the team need to stand up and be counted. The whole team need to pull their fingers out. Our form (and ultimately results) in the last 4 games is completely unnaceptable with the squad we have. The players want to have a good hard look at themselves. Blackwell and Ellis need tro get back to basic. Defending, closing people down, passing. It's ridiculous. The funny thing is that the other stronger teams are failing to impress. Despite playing awfully since the international break we are still right up there. We still have a strong team and can still be contenders for promotion, but only if we sort this shambles out very, very quickly!!??

I agree that the 2nd goals in the last 3 matches have been bunny's fault BUT as many have you have said, the midfield and defence have let them walk through them and have on other occasions. What has really annoyed me about how much of a barracking Bunn is getting is that, even though he has made a couple of poor mistakes, he has also made 3 at least 3 fine saves in the same match to keep us in them.
For example:
Wednesday- Tudgay twice and purse header
Swansea- Dyer and a magnificent double save
Ipswich- At least 4 great saves in the second half and a brilliant save from Evans's flicked header that was going to be an own goal.

To get things in perspective, I think United fans in general are judging him too much against Paddy. Just my opinion

Or, this sort of thing - keeping teams at a distance and making them take long range pot shots - has been going on for ages but we havent picked up on it as a group because Paddy never let them in like Baxt, sorry Bunn, has.

Clarke - I really think you are stretching it to say he made 4 great saves in second half against Ipswich. I genuinely cannot recall any great save. A great save is one where many keepers would have let it in. One save he made with his feet the kid was offside and I remember a routine save from Stead and even easier one from Martin.

You sound like Blackwell will do when he rings McCabe with his match report 'awesome match Kev, 28k here and they loved it, chance after chance and we played some great stuff.'

Other than that, I agree - Bunn has done OK at times and there are many other problems to resolve.

I'd imagine he'd then be instantly sacked or disciplined for trying to tell him about a match he saw himself :D

Hang on Foxy - are you actually tellinmg me McCabe troubled himself to watch a home game, in midweek, against Ipswich? Must be a mistake, is there a property deal in the offing?

Things are looking up suddenly.

Apologies but I always work on the basis he isn't there! Could you do me a favour and set up some form of McCabe attandance record thread?

I agree I did really really stretch it. I think I must blame the lack of sleep as I posted that. He did really make a good save from McCauley but yes that was a tad over-zealous.
I still think Bunn is a decent keeper though and it is an over-reaction to slag him off as much as people are doing.
