There are murmors that we are preparing a £3million bid for Micheal Brown lmao.

ive just read that Francis Jeffers could be on his way to the Lane on a year long loan.

I keep hearing that one, heard it last season.

Personally i cant stand the little cheat :)

according to a few pompey fans it looks like Todorov is joining after the weekend.

Only on a loan though.

They say they'd let him go for no more than 6 months.

he would be good for load, get him until shipps can last full games.

if Todorov is to join us on loan thats means we still have lots of cash spare, do u reckon Warnock will use it to strengthen other positions before the window closes or do u think he will save it for the january transfer window?

dont think he's gonna rush into buying just anyone. A lot of the managers are moaning that at the moment, the players just arent out there.

Rumours Carlton Cole is to join on loan and the deal should be completed by thursday.

Yeah, apparently a deal has been made where we can sign him for £200,000 when the loan is done.

Sounds cheap as chips.

Job supposed to be signing for West Ham, so thats one rumour down :).

West Ham are'nt signing Job now as he has failed a medical. Apparently.

Michael Brown

I know there's been lots of talk on other boards about Brownie and how Warnock should get him. (As if was easy.)

Well as soon as he was fit he was back in the side and played a full 90 mins against Blackburn.

mmmmm

We've got no chance.

As if he'd wanna go down a division AND come back to us.

Your right, as much as we loved him, and as much as he loved the Lane. It's a backwards step for a profesional footballer to go back to the club who sold you, especially when it's a lower league club.

According to the Yorkshire Post Browny "could be on the verge of a dramatic return to Bramall Lane". Even with Spurs overstocked midfield I can't see it happening somehow, but you never know :)

Think its more a ploy to try and sell papers ;)

mmm....would be hard...and the midfield is doing OK for me, if Browny came and took a slot, would that not create unrest??

Last match he played for us he was complete cack anyway. I reckon our midfield is pretty good at the moment, and don't think we need him.

How gutted would he be if he came back and ended up on the bench :) That'd knock the lad down a peg or two.

Exactly, Monty & Quinn in the centre. That's a right partnership, then there's Nalis, Jags doing the holding roll. That's pretty good in my opinion.

We're apparently getting CHRIS Brown, from Sunderland :)

And......not being funny with ya luv...but in my opinion..who is he, and what has he done. I can't even remeber him at all from last season???

Would he be better than what we have? WHat's the point of bringing in someone who wouldn't be guaranteed a start every game???

It would be dissapointing to get him, talk about getting the last crummy broken biscuit from the tin. :(

Chris Brown:

Soccerbase says this

And SAFC.com says this

Like I was saying in the other thread, he might be a gamble but at the moment, a Premiership striker wouldn't get into our team while it's playing like it is. We need Shipperley up front to boss the defenders so either Webber (injured) or Kabba (looked knackered against Crewe) could run off him. Chris Brown is a gamble, showing he was a prolific goalscorer at Donny Rovers but in the end, it's cover until January and he might end up being a surprise package.

Imagine the uproar if NW bought a striker and put them on in front of Kabba and Shipps at the moment! :)

Depends who it was, if we got a player that was put in front of those 2, then he must be quality. So I wouldn't mind.

Don't get me wrong, I have no probs with that partnership at the moment, it's doin the biz. But the player that appatently was gonna come to the lane was obviously a striker that would go in front of any partnership we can muster at the moment. Or what would be the point.

I'd be upset if any striker came infront of those two at the moment :) Whoever the bloody hell he was!

Apparently we tried to get a few big names in and it failed. Now no Premiership club is gonna loan one of their best strikers, and clubs in the same division are hardly gonna send a proven goalscorer to their rivals. We're pretty stuck by the looks of it so a young lad with potential is the best we can do.

Oh yes, totally agree. The last thing we should have done is go out and get a player (buy) just to have one. We need a prem quality player, but we need one of them who is playing. And that ain't gonna happen. We've got to hope that one of the clubs buys a better striker and puts someone lese down the pecking order, and we'll grab them due to lack of 1st team games. We may though be able to pinch a striker from someone in our division, a lot of teams struggle financially, so we may be able to get them to part with a striker if the price is right.

Could get Adam Proudlock from a struggling neighbour ;) He's shite but at least him, Jags and Bromby could talk about hair styles.

You see this that Foxy made the other day?
