If he goes, I'll be gutted that it didn't work out, I really wanted it to. But then again watching his performances for Burton last season as a RCB, I realised that he wasn't the Brayford we'd idolised before. He was no longer the marauding full back and if anything looked a yard off the pace, sometimes lost at centre half and without a spring in his step. It's a big ask for him to get back to what once made him so valuable to us under Clough. See first goal below for an example:

Since then, we've got Freeman and Baldock who are everything he once was, if not more - and arguably for much cheaper - meaning scarce resources could be put to use elsewhere.

A shame but best that we all move on. I will always remember that loan spell; running himself into the ground v Fulham; the goal v Charlton etc etc much more than the nothingness of the last 2.5 seasons

Like others say, disappointing the way it's worked out. It was clear that the guy had a genuine affection for the club and supporters. Not the right solution for us now and as such will go with my best wishes.

Cannot for the life of me understand some of the vitriol he's received from some Blades.

In this era of massively over inflated transfer fees and plenty of other championship defenders going for 2m plus i wonder how much we will get for him, especially with Burton banking the Irvine fee....surely he won't go on a free will he

Hmmmm...

I think the only thing he really had any affection for at Bramall Lane moved to Burton some time back.

If you want to be that cynical then fair enough, but all I saw from Brayford while he was here was a player who invariably gave his all, interacted with supporters and put in some cracking performances in a division below where he should have been.

Did we spend too much money on him... on a right back? Of course we fucking did, but that's not his fault in the slightest.

What I saw was someone who was terrible in his second spell.

Freeman has been patently a better footballer for us.

What I saw was someone who was really hampered by a serious injury and was part of a team that was fucking awful from front to back.

Freeman was far worse in his early spells at the club, but has improved immeasurably since then.

Brayford was brilliant before his injury, particularly when on loan. But if he wanted to be at Bramall Lane, we all know he has the ability to force his way into the team, but he clearly doesn't want to be here.

I think that's why some supporters have lost patience with him, the sooner he goes the better for everyone :(

disappointed how things have turned out for brayford. Was a joy to watch before the I jury, and let's not forget he sustained that injury putting his body on the line against Swindon in the play offs. .
