Think you're off the mark with that one Leonard. Henderson is a clueless great lump of shit, a free transfer from Stocksbridge Park Steels could probably do the work he does. Get some cash for him, no matter what just get something then maybe even start to build the team from scratch if needs be, but without the big clumsy target man please.

How very boring. Trust you to try to turn a negative into a positive. As Bob and Wards point out this makes perfect sense. If the guy has been disappointing then why threat about who we sell him too.

I merely point out to all those Hendo knockers that the club likely to finish in the top two next season wants to acquire his services.

this is true, but I think the so called 'Hendo knockers' are merley pragmatists. I think Henderson is decent if you play to his strenghts. However we don't. For reasons pointed out already in this thread the temptation to hoof it to him is too much. Hence I think the best option for SUFC is to sell him on. To recouperate most of the £2 million would be fantastic!

Firstly it's not about Hendo knocking its about accepting that we can't compete with what QPR can offer financially and getting a good deal for a player who has generally failed for us over 2 seasons.

Secondly unless you can't remember Derby under Maxwell or Wolves under the Hayward being the big spenders doesn't mean top 2.

He's been sent off a few times in 09-10 but stands out at unibond level - pace, positionally and finishing are his strong points.

It wouldn't be a free transfer though.

It's more incredible than that. He's tipping the club run by his all time fave manager of the Blades. Who, of course, was useless then.
 
Bogdanovic wouldn't be a direct replacement for Henderson surely- he's not a target man, getting on a bit and isn't a proven goalscorer in this league. I'd prefer us to keep hold of Henderson rather than replace him with Bogdanovic, and I'm not surprised Warnock wants to sign Henderson either, I think he tried to a few times with us. I wouldn't be happy with this guy as a replacement personally.
 
Len, are you getting the numbers "two" and "ten" mixed up again?

As I said at the time when we played the Dingles away, Bogdanovic was the best player on the pitch (admittedly the other 21 were pretty terrible)

I hear Boggy is a striker who likes it to feet, has a good touch and links well with midfield. If so it seems to signal a move away from hoofball. Amen to that!

One of my family members (he has six fingers on each hand) is a tykes season ticket holder and he reckons Bog is a very good player who we would do well to sign

The league is so shit next season it's there for anyone who spends a bob or two and gets organised. Even Warnock should be able to do that.

I'm glad to see that someone else thinks that we will be making a concerted effort to stop hoofballing in next years squad. In fact the last ten games of so of last season showed a noticable shift in style. If we are getting shut of the 'competitive players, but poor footballers', then so much the better...

Blackwell would play Hoofball even if we had the likes of Messi Kaka Iniesta Torres Drogba etc it's the only way he knows.

And please stop assuming he's an automatic replacement for Hendo, as types of players they're poles apart.

As for the "not as effective as Ward" comment - that would be correct because in his day Ashley Ward was a quality striker who commanded large transfer fees.
 
How long before he joined us would you say his day ended ?

Yeah the most recent season. What do you want him to do? Go back in time and sign for a Championship team 3 or 4 years ago and start banging them in season after season.

Your attempt to defend the flop that has been Darius Henderson at Sheffield United is embaressing. He simply hasn't performed in a Blades shirt. In an out of the team like a tampax due to injuries and suspensions, not available for crucial games, adding little value when he comes into the team. It amazes me that you are still defedning this £2 milion disappointment, somebody that we sold Rob Hulse for (oh I forgot Hendo is better than him!?).

The thought had crossed my mind, however we were linked with a lot of wingers last summer (and signed a few) yet we never played with any width for the majority of the season.

As far as Blackwell is concerned he's out of credit and I'm into "I'll believe it when I see it" territory. Sad but true.
