James Shield tweeting that we have been close to the loan signing of defender Bob Harris from Blackpool but since Ince got the tin tack recently the new caretaker has pulled the deal

I guess that's a bit if a blow for our Nige in his attempts to shore up a leaky defence as we slip back into the bottom four drop zone.

No nothing about Bob Harris other than he has a grey beard and is really into his music. Wonder if they gave him a whistle test?

1. Is there a link?
2. Have you quadruple checked there isn't a Bob Harris post already?

The rumour please will be round shortly to check ;)

Thought whisping had croaked for a minute

It's a JS piece in The Star. In this case more of a whisper than a rumour!

Don't mention operation yewtree. I mentioned it once, but i think i got away with it alright.

Harris deal back on apparantly

Tony McMahon going the other way

"Bob Harris move from Blackpool to #sufc seemingly back on with TonyMcMahon moving in opposite direction."

Now we potentially have a replacement for Hill we just need to replace Collins, Doyle, Porter, Flynn (still don't think he is good enough) and I would like to see a better version of Mcginn. Not an easy job but in clough we trust.

Bit of a strange one this - why only 28 days? The window for permanent moves shuts in a week; unless this was to get the deal done before the registration deadline for the weekend's games - which I think is easier for loans than permanents.

Suppose it gives the new Blackpool boss a chance to have a look at McMahonneyoney, the new boss may not want him ?

He can indeed play on Sunday due to the type of loan.

It's with a view to permanent.

Anyone know the first thing about our Bob? I'll confess to never having heard of him.

Id also imagine that we are paying less in terms of Harris' wages than McMahons

Hes only played three games for Blackpool, you would think with all the suspensions theyve had for Red Cards recently he would have had a chance of playing more games

"We were not looking to move Tony on but with his contract up in the summer this gives him a chance to impress at Championship level."

Lolz....hardly putting up a fight to keep him are we :-)

Another one for the Scottish mafia ?
His first game for Blackpool was in a league cup defeat to the Wendys....:(.
I think we are going to have to wait and see with this one..:tumbleweed:

No issue with this, presumably Brayford will be going into the right back position anyway and McMahon has hardly been an asset this season. The attributes he did bring last season, good crosses and set pieces, have been largely negated by their being other set-piece takers and the loss of Kitson who he assisted a lot of goals for.

Harris therefore will be providing cover and/or competing with Hill and Brayford, which sounds fine to me and whilst Matt Hill always gives his all you can't say there isn't room for improvement at left-back.

Do you know if we will we be able to extend the loan as well? Could he stay for the rest of the season?

Worth noting this wording in the Blackpool article on this:

"Harris, who has been restricted to just 19 appearances since joining The Seasiders in 2011, moves to Bramall Lane initially for a month, with a view to a longer-term arrangement."

Definitely sounds like they're not planning to have him back.

I'd like to see Collins dropped with Hill moving to centre back, then the two new lads at full back.

Work reportedly ongoing to make this a [Confirmed permanent] today, so that another loan is freed up.

I'd agree with that as he's been playing like a man who's just signed a long contract and needs a kick up the ar*e, however I thought for a large amount of the game he played well Sunday
