This winning thing is quite good really, isn't it? I recommend we do it more often, perhaps as soon as this weekend. Anyway, to discuss last night's win over WBA, it is of course Roygbiv joining me with much praise for the senior players getting it together in the last few weeks (and one of Chris Basham's very finest games), as well as Jayden Bogle as the second coming of Keiron Freeman. Also some thoughts on how last night serves as a neat comparison between the differing approaches that ourselves and West Brom have taken off the field: one standing firm, the other changing manager and throwing more money at the problem.

Yep, that's Toni Kallio, Finnish international of course....

Nope, I don't remember him either. And he was on loan at us TWICE!

Good listen as always boys. Interesting discussion on the loan window and I kinda agree and disagree with you on this. Agree that West brom have been stupid throwing millions away on 4 or 5 panic loans, however I think we should have added maybe just 1 midfielder. We are just too short in this area and with the games coming thick and fast, I think this could cost us. Bear in mind you get an extra 2 million for each league place increment and the fa cup prize money for progressing, so there's money to be made. My preference would have been to get Luke Freeman back, I just wonder if this was a money or football decision.

I understand people's frustrations as we are undoubtedly short but on the money side of things, I think any loan signing would cost us over the 1.5m more you get from finishing a place higher. Realistically the highest we can probably finish is third bottom and any loan player worthy of coming straight into the team would cost us more than we could recoup from finishing third bottom. Also, you get less than a million for reaching the FA Cup final so financially I don't think that makes sense either.

It's not black and white though. If we finish 3 points from safety then we will all be saying we should have gambled more. If I were in the shoes of The Prince though I would have done exactly what he did. That said I'm quite tight. I've not bought a new TV for over 10 years.

I enjoyed that listen (as always, after we win). I completely agreed with the take on Norwood's 'tackle' for the goal. Whilst it didn't cover him in glory, it wasn't quite a 'bottle' like most people said. He pulled out of it more for the fear of getting a straight red card (a la Lundstram at Brighton), which could have been hugely costly for us.

Yeah, but in the Man U game, he robbed Pogba with superlative ease, he did - I'm not shitting you. There is a way to put in a 'committed' tackle to a man running with the ball or face on. It's summat you learn early and use judiciously and many times this season, he could have done this. It's just 'timing' and putting your foot through the ball, and claiming the space and initiative. I'm not coaching Norwood vicariously - he's a far better footballer than I am, have been or will ever be, and deservedly so. But I am disappointed he lacks the confidence to do this. A younger, fitter me used to put tackles in like was needed and yeah, sometimes it makes you wince, but it's all about winning the territory and possession and then the game. He could have put in a more convincing tackle (without compromising his disciplinary status) for the WBA goal and others too. It is strange so many goals come from, or go through his section of the pitch.
