Good game, crappy conditions. 3-3 draw was about right. Got a match, a pie and a pint n still had change from a tenner. Cant say better than that fer t day after Tuesday night. :)

I thought it was an enjoyable game and it was good to see alot of 15/16 year olds been given an opportunity too. I was impressed by Jordan Anderson at right back for the first hour, I think he'll be pushing for the U18s next year.

The wind was absolutely mental though! I doubt you'll see another game at Hallam where the kicks downhill can't reach the halfway line, but the keeper can score uphill :D

I played in a match as a youth when our keeper couldn't get his goal kicks out of the 18 yard box first half. Second half he made an assist from a kick which bounced once in the opposition box and then touched in.

DazBlade88, How many of our u16s (Y11) were offered scholarship on Dec 5th? I know that 9 of SWFC u16s (Y11) have been offered scholarship (2 are from Sheffield (one of them is the son of an ex-Blade long servant), 2 are from Dronfield and I think the rest are from outside the Sheffield area). Maybe it is difficult for you to answer this as the players are not 16 or over yet. Some parents who I know from my sons age in the Junior League in some ways agree with me that some of the best players from Junior League have been "overlooked" (not only by SUFC) or that the players see trialling or training at Academies as a waste of time (fed up of "done deals" being one of the big reasons). I remember Steve Bruce writing in programme notes in the 1998-99 season saying that Sheffield have always been one of the strongest teams in schoolboy football but he finds it difficult to understand that not many Sheffield-born players make the grade in professional football. Since then there have been a small increase in Sheffield-born professional footballers but a scout (not from SUFC) told me a few weeks ago that the present u16s age group (Y11s only) is a weak age group in the Yorkshire area. When I told this to a friend (his son plays in div A of the u16s) his response was "That is rubbish, the scouting have been poor!"

A few of them broke cover on Twitter with their bad news fairly recently. I'm not aware how many have stayed on though.

I'm afraid I have no idea. As has been said, I know of a few who haven't been offered but most of it has been kept under wraps.

I think it'll be easier to get an idea towards the end of this season as they try and blend them in with the U18s. Most of the lads who played against Watford on Wednesday night were U16s, and one or two of those stood out as really good players.

Ok thanks. Should find out next season. I get the impression that there are more potential players from the u15s age group than the u16s at the present and maybe there are more places for those who were successful at the recent u16s trials
