Noticed the flag in the background. Hope they're safe and not involved.

Also an open letter on Facebook, from a blade fan over there, that's saying French police are arbitery tear gassing and charging England fans, who are then getting picked off by French and Russian fans.
Unfortunately, ( not for quite a while) we come with previous. All very sad.

pity the feeble we are totally innocent stance was preceded by this picture , which sort of offers a 180 degree view

Times have changed, England fans are not the only and biggest bully anymore. I honestly thought the rioting/chaos on this scale was gone. Marseille must've been a scary and intimidating place these last few days for normal/family fans.

What's Harry McGuire doing there, far right of pic, with a bottle of Southern Comfort?

Hes enjoying his off-season holiday combined with celebrating further the play off final victory over the Pigs, we can't blame him can we?

I have a couple of friends out there, just a normal couple. She said she is packing in supporting England after this. She said the French police are tear gassing anyone in sight and are completely over the top.

Hate to say it but if UEFA want to make a decisive stance then they should kick England and Russia out of the tournament Imediately I'm English but both sets of fans are a disgrace.

FIFA also should strip Russia of the next World Cup.

So punish the innocent as well then? 99 % have not gone out there for trouble.

Unfortunately, we have previous.
Mate of mine went out to Portugal in 2004 and was sat innocently drinking in a cafe bar when the local Gendarmes stormed in whacking fans with batons. One confronted my mate and said "run". My mate said "why?" and he whacked him with a baton. My mate ran off with 2 coppers chasing him and while he was trying to scale a chain fence to escape they were whacking his legs with batons

That is exactly what I've been hearing, spoke via text to a couple who were out there and the Police tear gassed a bar where they were drinking last night purely cos some fans were singing football songs in the outside chairs, which provoked some morons to retaliate by throwing objects back at them.

Today they were attacked on two sepearate occasions by Russian Ultras for no reason, no Police in sight and had to run for it. They have already said that's it for them for international games and are heading for Spain to enjoy the rest of their holiday.

The French have stitched us right up here.

Did we chuck Dijon mustard about at half time

After decades of insulting and trashing foreign lands the En-ger-land fans now find that they're utterly hated by others who 'get their retaliation in first'. Yes, I'm sure the vast majority don't go looking for trouble but won't say 'no' if some comes their way. Given the high expectation of trouble, I simply can't understand anybody going near games like this. You could be a perfectly respectable Leeds or Millwall fan but you'd surely keep clear of their away games, given the high proportion of cunts they attract.

Hooligans come in all shapes and sizes (apart from England's who seem to consist mainly of massively fat, unfit, pissed up blokes who should be old enough to know better). The Russian Ultras, on the other hand, 'came for business' and it was easy to have their fun with our morons.

Cue the press endlessly parroting 'I thought we'd left this behind'. When? At most domestic matches, violence is never far under the surface. You can't hide away - at the Hull semi, I was very near the violence that erupted between Blades fans. But you can minimise risk and to go to an extremely rough city, get pissed, wear Union Jack boxers on your head and sing nationalistic songs is, shall we say, being mildly naive.

By far the best book I've ever read on the subject is Among the Thugs by Bill Buford. The American author followed hooliganism at Cambridge and Man. United, climaxing at the 1990 Italia World Cup. Twenty six years ago and nothing's changed. It could have been written yesterday in Marseille instead of Cagliari.

It sounds like the Police are doing naff all in the way of Policing correctly.
They watched the Russians gather, saw them mask up, saw them walk up the street and start attacking people just eating a meal. THEN the police use the gas and that affects the victims more than the perpetrators.

So your not sure whether this actually happened or not.

No your right I'm not there. Are you?
So mine is pure hearsay listening to and watching loads of people who were.
Yep lets me and you piss off and post no further comments.
Other than you to confirm whether you are there are not, are you?

Not that I'm defending police actions over there, but surely the French authorities have enough to be worrying about during this competition than a bunch of idiots of various nationalities playing billy big bollocks-given what has happened in France over the last few years.

Perhaps the scenes we have seen for far is down to the large spike in Nationalism across Europe, all playing into the hands of those who seek to attack the West.

It doesn't matter what nationality you are, throwing punches in the name of football is ridiculous and idiotic.

Hope all those caught up in it against their will are ok.

I'm not there and have not posted anything as I've not seen anything with my own eyes. Thing is with the media, they will only show you what THEY want you to see, there are pictures available online which show 3 England fans stood next to two Russian fans enjoying a few beers. Media won't show that.

Fat, ugly, bald-middle aged men doing the obligatory "crucfix stance" and scrapping in the street. How fucking embarrassing.
