Stuart was sold by Steve Bruce around the same time that David Holdsworth was sold, the season after Spackman. It was only the Deane/JAF signings that happened against his will (Don Hutchison for example wasn't first choice for example). What an error it was to not cash in on Gareth Taylor when we had the chance....

Spackman also had Tiler and Ward sold over his head and was unlucky to lose McGrath and Whitehouse through career-ending injuries. Having said that he went out and bought Saunders as an "early Xmas present for myself" when he already had Deane, Fjortoft, Taylor, Marcelo and Katchuouro as strikers on the books. With hindsight, there seems to have been a total lack of communication between him and the board. One minute being allowed unnecessary, profligate spending and about a month later having the plug totally pulled.

for what its worth, the treatment of Our Neil is the main reason i dont have a season ticket any longer (33 years. first year without one this year).
I care that we are shit but it wouldn't stop me going, the abuse warnock got WHILE HE WAS TAKING US UP FOR GOD'S SAKE was ridiculous, moronic, embarassing.
Coventry away will stay with me forever.
And half of you are still at it!

Of course he would have done better than robson blackwell speed adams, but it was virtually impossible for him to stay.

Talking of Warnock, although many of their fans were arseholes at the time, still feel a tinge of sympathy that West Ham are throwing their heritage away to go and play at an athletics track.

I feel greater sympathy for Leyton Orient.

I'm not sure this West Ham move is going to be the great success the club's owners evidently think it is.
Watching football in an athletics stadium is a shit experience. Watching it at Brisbane Road everyday of the week for me in comparison.

The whole Pompey episode was funny and without doubt helped McCabe decide Warnock's time was up when we got relegated

What? When he decided to listen to offers because United weren't paying his worth, before rejecting and seeing out what he started. How dare he hey?

Neil Warnock's loyalty is to Neil Warnock.

Your point being?

He is no longer our manager and has since managed another club before QPR who he walked out on.

It is well known that Warnock leaving Palace, helped them out massively. Letting go of a decent paid manager and receiving a massive sum of compensation to help appease their debts.
Warnock will have took a pay rise. No more than he deserves, look at what he has done with QPR.

To you maybe..... but for kids who can get in at a fraction of the price at WHU than at LO, in a nice shiny new stadium.... I fear for Leyton Orient.
