It is reported in the Yorkshire Post that we are not to appeal over the red card.
I have to say that having watched it a number of times I fail to see any grounds for appeal.
Just a hot headed moment by someone who should know better with all his experience.
Will he be with us next season, imho he would need to be able to make a bigger impact, and we could probably do better bringing in a younger striker.

I think it likely that the only way they would appeal was so he could play friday. If the appeal was to be heard this week then there was no point.
Interestingly if we do get to final he would only miss the first game of next season. Do we want him? if it was a choice between him and Porter then yes but if it was between him and say Beavon from Wycombe I would say no

While I know Porter is resident boo boy on here, he has actually put the ball in the back of the net this season. Something that BT has actually failed to do. Now I admit to being blinded by his previous greatness in thinking he was a great aquisition. In fairness I don't care if we aren't paying him. He is busted and his attitude is that of a spoiled little boy who has had his action man taken off him. Getting sent off twice in a season when he has only played a handful of games is no mean feat. In fact he has been sent off more than he has scored any goals. So makes perfect sense to me we should give him a contract. With a full pre-season behind him he could possibly get to November having only been sent off three times, missed 10 games and been injured for the rest of the season. Wow, where do we sign.

He has also played a hell of alot more than BT

Interestingly BT has been sent off as many times as he has started for us this season. The mans stats are nothing short of astonishing.

I'm now waiting for someone to say, "but if he was fully fit..........................".

obviously the club does read this forum, specifically my post saying it was pointless.

Monty eerily departed at the same time as my 'Not Good Enough' post as well.

*off to post Blades cruise through playoffs post.

Porter isnt good enough to play for us.

that said, i dont think BT is either.

expect the shopping list to be drawn up, with Danny spending some serious time down the striker's aisle, regardless of whether we go up.

well if we win the playoffs there should be an extra million in the coffers to pay for it.. conspiracy??

I know it's daft to take too much notice of what supporters say about departing players, but I can't help myself having a look. There were plenty of kind words re Porter from Derby fans acknowledging his goal-scoring and in particular his work-rate..I think some of the comments were even sincere!.To be fair to him, he has scored, but I can't say his work-rate has been particularly note-worthy.. I don't know, but has he been fully fit? His contribution this season has certainly been more positive than Beattie's.. I am a bit biased, but unless you're called Brian Deane or Keith Edwards, most players are best just left as good memories
