I work with a lot of Chesterfield fans, god what a bitter bunch. Giving it the you'll beat Derby's record even more than the pig fans I know

I remember listening to FH one Monday night after we'd played our first four matches under Wilder in League1/Div3, and Chesterfield were about fourth ish after a good start with Evans in their side.
A Town fan came on and was crowing about what would/wouldn't happen to our respective teams that season....... I suspect that was about as good as it's been for him for almost three years now.

haha well they don't have deal to crow about, apparently the hate is because we caused their current downward spiral by a) refusing to move the date we played them at the proact (so their players were tired, bless) and b) not loaning them Brooks....
Well I'd guess Brooke's is happy the way things turned out. Imagine him int national league.

Two years ago today we celebrated becoming Centurions, in our final match of the season against Chesterfield. There is now a four league gap between Chesterfield and us. This must be a record in such a short space of time?

Good point - I looked at the L1 table on Sunday and was interested in seeing that Scunny could get relegated.

It made me think of that Scunny players bimbo wife giving it big on twitter about them being top of the league when we were chasing them.

How things change - they could be 4th tier next season when we are 1st tier.

32 months ago we were rock bottom of league 1. Now we are 47 places higher in about 40 games. Is that a record?

It is actually 47 places higher in133 games - unless the number of games per season has drastically reduced since the start of 2016-17 season !:)

yes, and a few weeks later we played them at their place with the SKY cameras present one sunny, Sunday afternoon.

We were magnificent in a 1-4 win, our crowd for the first time went bonkers and it was my first indication of what could happen that season.

A really memorable afternoon.

Bradford, relegated to League Two, Scunny and Walsall staring at the trap door.

League Two - MK Dons, Stevenage, Port Vale, teams we were playing a few seasons ago. The mighty Yeovil, out of the EFL.

It's when I look at all the EFL tables and see those names, that it reinforces the incredible job that Chris Wilder and Alan Knill have done.

Indeed - and how shit we were at that time.

As fans we need to stay humble though and remember where we came from - they were dark days to be sure.

A big thank you to Danny Lafferty for perhaps being the least run-down of the squad from the mass drinking in the days leading up to the game. Hope we find him a nice club for a permanent move this summer.
