a win , chiseled out v vale , and made hard work by a combination of bad finishing and bad luck ,

Were aggressive from the off and peppered the Vale goal as we carried on in the vein we ended the game at northampton coventry city, we had a succesion of penalty box edge free kicks , which McMahon used to prove you can take out a pie in the Westfield corner, but the pressure finally culminated in a looping headet from a much improved Collins that took 2 to 3 minutes to find the net.Our wide men were creating plenty of chances which was frustrating the vale defence so much they accumulated one yellow card to many and had a man sent off for slicing down our winger yet again . We then had a superb strike disallowed and remained in total control until on the brink of half time the Vale winger put in a cross that , this is the bad luck bit , sailed surprising everyone just under twixt bar and post far side to send the teams in inexplicably level.
Second half was noticable it had knocked us off our stride a bit but one or two , Brandy and Taylor kept us moving forward, You may notice I havent mentioned King , moving on , after he was substituted we upped our game and the quality again of subs allowed the move that opened up for Franz Doylenbauer to hit a fierce 25 yarder (was 20 yesterday afternoon and 22 yards last night ) What was pleasing was apart from a couple of forays to salvage something by vale we controlled the latter part and really should have sewn up a bigger win , but a wins a win .
Long had some off moments and sliced a few kicks and dropped some uneccessary balls, but overall functioned more as a team and created a pile of chances, had we had a forward who was mobile and interested the margin would have been greater
