Blade in a southern red and white city

Hi,

I'd like to introduce myself. I've been a Sheffield exile for many years having moved away at eighteen and migrated progressively south until I ended up in Southampton, another city with a red and white stripes team. It's a split household - husband a Saints season ticket holder, me trying to follow United as and when possible with trips to away matches in the south. I have to own up to going to Saints games too just to see football, but I can't work up the same enthusiasm for them, even when they are flying high... So far this season had a good awayday at Yeovil and also went to Wycombe, and hope to get to the Bournemouth match with my brother, another expat living in this part of the world. It would be good to hear from any other Sheffield natives in this neck of the woods for a natter about the Blades.

As no one else has said hello, thought I might

I'm a bit SW of you in Dorset, but my lads all go to the Maritime Academy in Warsash - two of 'em are there at the moment
So if you see a red Mazda with Blades stickers screaming down Newtown Road then that's them late for lectures

They live in Ocean Village so you just might see them driving around

They tell me that James Beattie was in the Silver Fern in Warsash on Saturday night watching the England game... you'd think he's have his own 3D telly at home

And, don't be fooled by "Soton Blade" he's up North in Salisbury
