..seems to be working from an attacking point of view. In the 7 league games we have played since he went there, we have scored 15 goals, 14 excluding penalties (and that includes 2 no scores). In the previous 17 games, we had only scored 19, 15 excluding penalties.

Yes, and I think DW fully recognises the balance this gives us. With Miller's injury today, he could have simply moved him up front and had the much more defensive options of Williams or McAllister come in on the wing. The fact he didn't suggests he's much happier with Blackman out wide for the foreseeable future.

Remains to be seen whether he'd be switched back if another winger is brought in this January though. The injuries to Collins and Miller might effect who we try and bring in next month depending on their seriousness.

Blackman impresses me every time i see him. it was a joy to watch him today. sure early on a lot of his running at defenders didnt come off (they doubled up on him a fair bit) but hes a winger, hes meant to try and take people on. he never stops wanting the ball and hes got all the skills.

he also pulled off nutmeg of the year in the second half. worth the entrance fee alone.

Although he's not a specialist winger, the team was crying out for someone to add a bit of pace, directness and dribbling ability from wide. Blackman has added that, while Miller has come in, maintained the pace up front and even linked a bit better with the target men. It's given the whole team better balance, and we must try to keep the shape even if Miller is sidelined for a while.

If another winger who is as effective as he seems to be, comes in in January, then it would make sense to stick him back up front.

If they dont, it may seem odd to suggest it, but despit him being probably the "best" striker we have, it more effective for him to play on the wing...

I believe we need to play blackman in strike, yes he's good at LM but we need someone I bit like Quinn who's knows how to play there, if we get promoted I think we should buy Luke Freeman.

i think he's been a revelation on the wing.. yeah he's a maverick and a greedy so and so but he's not scared to have a shot, lose the ball or take a penalty and we need someone like that.. i like him because he is prepared to take a chance and many of them have come off

Really enjoy the fact that he is not afraid to lose the ball and runs at people from his new roll.

All I would say is that he needs to improve his right foot. Countless times he's beaten his man on the outside down the channel only to put the ball out of play when he gets to the by-line. He doesn't need to put in a pinpoint cross every time but if he could just keep it in and get it across the box occasionally!

It is a double whammy for me; Moving Blackman out wide means that we have a better winger and also a better striker playing up front. Blackman has given more balance on the wing and he is also dangerous from his running, shooting and delivering crossess. But it also has enabled us to put another dangerous player on the pitch. In fact I think Miller is a better option up front, as he links better with Porter/Kitson and he is a more out and out poacher. Blackman had a tendency to pull out wide and be too far away from his strike partner. All of a sudden we have an attacking threat out wide, that can beat his man etc and a nippy poacher up front that canfeed off Porter and Kitson's donkey work. It is the combination in my eyes.

All Blackman needs to learn is when to pass instead of shooting all the time. It's like playing FIFA with my son, he never passes either.
