Horrendous to say the least

Cotterill sets up the goal which gets us back into the game and is then taken off, we may have won the game if he was left on, when you are under pressure with one less man, he can relieve it by running with the ball.

Last few minutes, takes beattie off for that waste of space keef. que us getting a couple of long throws and a couple of corners in the last minutes, best striker gone, what was the point really? beattie was tired yes, but there was a few minutes left, im sure hed have been fine

all in all, shit subs!

Well Halford for Cotterill was a excellent change for me. Cotterill didn't do all that much and once we went down to 10 men we had no cover. Monty isn't blessed with pace and although Cotterill is he rarely gets back to get stuck in. So bringing on a player with experience in that position while also having a throw in which is as good as a cross was also an attacking threat. All in all great change.

The other, well there was only minutes left, Beattie who had a poor game was knackered and I believe Gillespie was brought on to waste time down the right and use his experience to be fair. We didn't want to bombing on exposing space we couldn't afford to give away trying to win and then getting a sucker punch like we almost did with Best. A point was a great result granted.

Cheap as chips AMBITION.
Cheap as chips TACTICS
Cheap as chips UNITED

................................................same owd united.

Cotts for Halford made sense, as Stinky says, we needed someone assured at RB, we also needed players on the pitch who were willing to work for the ball and not shirk challenges, ala Cotterill.

The Beattie Keef one did seem bizarre however, and it also baffles me why Hendrie wasn't given a chance.

In the main I agree with the original poster, however the Cotts Halford swap made sense.

Time wasting and bringing on a player who can play in defence.

Whilst a draw is a decent result when you are down to ten men and 1-0 down, we shouldn't be encouraging teams on to us.....

Not saying it was right or wrong... just the presumed thinking behind it.

I didn't think it was a wise move.

We had momentum and looked more dangerous with Cotterill on. I can see why he wanted to bring Halford on but Id of waited to make the change or sacrificed someone else instead.

As for the Keef substitution I really did not understand that one. Surely it would of made more sense to keep Beattie on as we would of stood more chance of stealing a winner.

one of the other deciding factors on the Cotts substitution would be his positioning when SJH was making the tackle.... Stood on the half way line with his hands on his hips watching his right back.

Totally understand the substitution, would also agree that we needed pace on the pitch though.
