Before he came

Beattie
Hulse
Stead
Sharp
Webber

now

Henderson
Sharp
Ward
Webber

He's not finished yet, still hoping to bring in another striker.

The following is based on all appearances (including off the bench etc)...

Goals this season:

Players Out:

Beattie 12 (25 Games)
Hulse 8 (31 Games)
Stead 7 (26 Games)

Total: 27 goals

Players still here:

Henderson 4 (19 Games)
Sharp 5 (22 Games)
Ward 16 (19 Games)
Webber 3 (29 Games)

Total: 28 goals

Interestingly out of the outgoing strikers, only James Beattie is above us in the table.

It's a bit early to judge whether he's done the right thing or not, so far we've scored 7 goals in 3 games since Beattie left, that might continue, it might stop... No-one knows or they'd make a fortune in Ladbrokes!

I never said he had :) was just comparing how many goals they've all scored this season.

they would have if they were still here and given a chance

Whilst I can see what you're saying, that argument is disingenous to say the least. Who can say whether they would have scored or not? Hulse might have broken his leg again. No one knows.

On the other hand, I do find the assertions from people that you should just 'support your club' a little patronising and even smacking of a totalitarian nature. It's surely up to the individual how they see the club, whether this is in a positive or a negative light, and the very nature of a forum is a meeting point of opinion, surely?

Yep and in my opinion Supporting the team in a positive way is better than Slagging them off for every decision that is made, but thats just my opinion (If thats ok).

Of course it's ok. In my opinion telling someone what they should or should not do goes beyond opinion though.

I agree that supporting the team is more productive, but I wouldn't dream of telling someone else what they should or shouldn't do.

And do you have cast-iron, stand-up-in-court proof of this? No. It's just speculation.
Personally I thought Stead did well for us, but he clearly didn't want to sit on the bench for most of the time, and I can't blame him. But he and the others are gone, and speculating on how they might have done is like watching You've Been Framed. A good way to spend half an hour but ultimately pointless.

sorry if you took it as a 'Order' it was more a general comment of my feelings.
I feel a lot of people on forums in general may follow the thing the forum is about (Like Following United on here), but do not actually support it.
Which in my opinion is a negative to the cause.

You can still support club even though you may criticize certain decisions that have been made. The uproar from the fans about Robson that eventually got him out ended up turning last season around.

If we had just blindly supported the club regardless of what was happening Robson would still be here and on the points per game ratio we would of finished just above the relegation zone or maybe even worse.

And he's not playing every week at Ipswich either, what are the odds on him moving in the summer again?

I'm sure the pressure from the fans helped but of course Robson wouldn't still be here. That's crazy talk.

I think the fans reaction to him played a part.

Why stay when your hated by the fans?
