So far only bringing in a half baked Malteser - who people say he didn't want to sign - and most of us don't really rate as better than we already have. Losing all that experience with Paddy and Naysmith out the door. Blackwell must be cacking himself.

Our new badge should be a set of incontinence pants and a pair of clogs!

And, of course, who plays the only position on the field where we have a number of options.

(Well, apart from left back, where we have the gruesome twosome to pick from.)

" Blackwell must be cacking himself."

Is that why some call him cackwell?

Last year we heard the playoffs hampered our recruitment drive. What's the excuse this time because we have lost Kenny and naysmith and only got in Boggy?

He shouldn't cack himself he should be tremendously excited about this great chance to rebuild a squad that fits into his philosophy of football. The budget will still be decent and it's completely up to him to get it right. It's a wonderful challenge!

Do you really imagine that we haven't got our own talks with our own targets, or are you having a flounce because its only 8 weeks to the season and we haven't got the squad finalised yet..?

When it comes to transfer windows, as with much in life, its not how you start, but how you finish...

And i'll put money on it that we'll still be looking for a decent central midfielder come the end of the transfer window.

No excuses needed. The management team is quietly and professionally getting on with its job. I'm with Dunc on this one - it's how you finish that counts.

You must be clapping like a seal because you are looking sunk right now

I'm looking sunk? How do you work this one out? Or are you holding me personally responsible for the clubs transfer policy and dealings?

I am not saying that we will have a championship winning squad by Sept 1st. I don't know. Maybe we will, maybe we will have a bunch of scufflers who will just about keep us in the top ten. All of this is yet to be seen.

However, it shouldn't come as any surprise that some players will be going out, and in all likelyhood they will be going before the new ones come in. I can't see the point in self combusting on every piece of news (true or horseshit) which does the rounds, or declaring any incoming as crap before they've kicked a ball for us.

I reject the emotional rollercoaster that you lot seem to be putting yourselves through. Relax, see who comes and who goes and judge it when the squad it together. I'm as interested as everyone in how we improve and develop the side, because they are my team too. But we will only really know when the season is underway. Remember, Blackpools squad looked weak enough to get them relegated last season, and they ended up being promoted. Are big star buys that everyone thinks are great really that important...?

Thanks for the bit of common sense Dunc, I guess folk like to have fun making up stuff but at times it is hard to believe that this is a fan forum when so many are out to put down the club, mostly based on assumptions they have made up.

There's truth in that, but I don't think you can build a squad from the ground up in one transfer window. Will the fans accept a season of consolidation, or will they hound him out when we struggle?

I've also got sympathy witht the belief that his philosophy isn't one we should be following. He's seen us through the period of plumetting budgets with a (generally) ugly and pragmatic approach. Now we've bottomed-out, is he the man to build again?
