A squad of players that have been sold during Blackwells reign (for a fee, with a few exception) any one of these would probably walk straight into the current team.

Not sure its Blackwells fault in its entirety, but just shows how far we've regressed in the past few years.

Paddy Kenny

Kyle Naughton – Matt Killgallon – Kyle Walker – Gary Naysmith

Dave Cotterill – Brian Howard – Michael Tonge – Lee Hendrie

James Beattie – Billy Sharp

SUBS:

Ian Bennet
Rob Hulse
Jon Stead
Leigh Bromby
Chris Armstrong
David Carney

In terms of missing men - I'd also highlight the number of signings that Blackwell has made of players that have been injured or unfit. Off the top of my head I can think of: Jordan, Nosworthy, Camara and France?

This is added to the much moaned about injury list we had anyway which meant players were playing out of position and there was no consistancy.

Lots of those there that were down to footballing decisions too. I agreed with us shifting Howard on in the end, but I didn't agree with the Stretch, Stead, and in particular Hulse deals. The sale of Hulse was largely accepted by fans, based on his tough return from injury. People weren't prepared to gamble on his return to form, which happened virtually immediately following preseason. Selling him and replacing with Hendo was a major error frankly.

The Cotterill deal, and his replacement with an arguably worse player, was nothing short of bizarre too. Blackwell had an odd approach to the wingers on the books. The only people he's been happy playing there for long spells are Quinn, Halford, Cresswell, and Ward - none of them actually proper wingers.

With any luck, we may finally now get to see Jamie Ward, arguably our best player, actually play in his best position.

Ched Evans and Jamie Ward bibbedy bobbedy boo

Personally I think he's better on the wing

he prefers wide-right himself actually, though id love him to get a bash as a michael owen type striker - lets hope we get some decent attacking coaches in

I wouldn't want a single member of that midfield and Hulse only from the subs.

I don't see any of them deposing Monty and Squinny either Pinch.

People forget Hulse's scoring record after we got relegated - when he came back from injury he played 24 games and scored a grand total of no goals. Hardly prolific, and you can't really blame any manager for getting money for a forward that isn't scoring. Stead went out on loan when Robson was manager (as did Quinn senior). A little unfair to blame Blackwell for that.

Well Hulse was moved on partly down to a certain James Beattie being here. We were not prepared to gamble on his fitness and hanging on to him to play 2nd fiddle to Beattie. Like it has been said he still featured in 24 games and scored zero goals while in the mean time Beattie was scoring left right and center. Hendo was brought in to replace Beattie not Hulse and as you can tell that was £2mil down the pissser.

i sincerely hope you are wrong in that assertation.. the 'missing midfield' is mainly a result of these two clowns:(
