People were saying that they preferred Wolves but given last night's crowd at Molineaux I don't expect they would have brought many.

Brum, on the other hand, are on a roll in the Championship and have just thrashed Millwall 6-0. I expect they will bring a respectable following to the Lane. Yes, there's less chance of it being on TV.

Hopefully our good run will persuade more people to show up for this one. Ticket prices are low (fiver for kids) and the kop is open. We should get over 15k, maybe over 20k

About bloody time the Kop was open

Have to say that this game does not sound particularly appealing. With some big games around the corner I am concerned that the cup might be a distraction. I know it's more money and chance to prove ourselves (I think we have a good chance at home to Brum) but fear about fatigue, injuries and suspensions in the run in. The last thing we want is a bunch of Tuesday matches and games in hand. Particularly if we drop off the pace (which is possible with the games we have between now and the end of Feb). We've had some luck this year in keeping players fit and we can only pray this continues. Maguire and Collins are both obvious one's. Lowton has missed few games, McDonald has been available, Cresswell most of the time and Ched has played pretty much every game since coming back from injury. I just hope something doesn't give.

From what I saw, they'll find it difficult against us.

Can't agree, I watched last night as the interested neutral and I was quite impressed with Birmingham. In particular their midfield will cause us problems. It strikes me Chris Hughton is doing a decent job again and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them push for an automatic promotion place in the run-in. They seemed to lack a bit up front whilst the wonderkid on the wing undoubtedly has talent but he is still very raw.

I think it’s naive to say they'll find if difficult against us. We still lack a huge amount of pace all over the park of which most championship teams have.
Many of the chances teams are having in this league against us will be put away by higher opposition as our defence still lacks pace, quality, and experience.
It will be interesting to see how we match up but I’m not very optimistic.... Birmingham will not bring a good crowd, wolves in my opinion have always brought a respectable amount to Bramall Lane but when your only filling half a stadium for a local derby in the cup you know you’re at St Andrews and likewise for their last game of the season when they went up.... the amount of empty seats was unreal.

Birmingham didn't impress me last night. They passed the ball around a lot in midfield (quite often backwards) but they didn't create much going forward. Bramall Lane may be a different scenario, though I think we have a reasonable chance.

Wolves were terrible, and it was good to see that cheating scumbag Stephen Hunt, having a stinker.

Only 10k there last night for a local derby involving a Prem club. I'd be amazed if we got over 20k & would be happy with 15k. I'm a ST holder & consider myself to be very keen - but I'm struggling to raise much enthusiasm for the FA Cup these days.

It was live on ITV - what did you expect?

Hear, hear Broomhill. It was particularly pleasing to see Hunt appealing for offside for the goal, and he was standing on the goalline.

I don't think he was having a stinker, but has reached the very end of his 'talent' - busy runs and fouling.

I was also interested to see that new stand going up behind the LH goal. Be pretty empty next season in the Championship.

Also, why after dropping one in televising the first leg did ITV persevere with the replay, which was slghtly better, but not much. Copying Sky with endless shots of cute kids in the crowd couldn't hide the fact that it was dire. Plus the endless shots of Robert Plant. (I thought he was dead. Seeing him last night, it appears he is.) Still at least we got a few mentions by the commentator. Can't remember any from Adrian Chiles, but if he did it would have been 'And...er...the...er...next...er...round...er...opponents..er...are...er.......'

The way we are playing is to the players we have and our 'lack of pace' seems to be doing alright upfront. At the back our positional sense and communication gets us through.
As for the higher quality i suggest you look at the chance rooney had.

I think it all depends how quick we re-arrange games, the Yeovil game was a stroke of genius and need to do the same for Scunny if poss then we don't fall behind it is helping us the fact that the re-arranged games are both at home so far.

I would not like to see the Scunthorpe game rearranged until after we play Colchester. After that we will have played equal numbers of games home and away. If we are still second then, we will be in a bloody good position.

"The lack of pace seems to be doing alright upfront"
That is due to the crap defences we are coming up against in the 3rd tier of English football, I would expect anybody who plays upfront, touted once at £3m and described as the next shearer to be getting a hatful.
As for the higher quality you point out Brums Rooney... i could point out Torres in the prem and the amount he has missed this season. Singling one strike out doesn’t really suggest that their whole team lacks quality. I still think if we were to be playing in the championship with the current squad we would be struggling, of course I'd loved to be proved wrong and see us progress to the next round.

As for the crowd, it won’t be big but i could never see us not hitting at least 28-29k if we were playing Wednesday in the cup.... unlike the leg at St Andrews which for a local derby was appalling.

I noticed that the Birmingham goalkeeper tended to step outside his goal area when kicking the ball out o his hands. He did this on at least two occasions (the cameras weren't on him for the others). Someone needs to have a word with the Ref's Assistants before the match. We might get a soft free kick.

I was watching it in the gym without sound, and was wondering why the camera kept focusing in on this old tramp in the crowd.

If were still second after saturday i think we will be in a bloody good position, that will mean we got a positive result at charlton because udders will win.

I s'pose when you're as rich as he is and bankrolling the club you can dress how you like, even as a tramp
