Billy needs a testimonial

He'll get his testimonial when he hangs up his boots. My opinion is it should take place against Pigs or Leeds

Obviously I'm a bit biased, he's my generation's Blades legend but if I'm honest I can totally see why all other clubs and fans seem to hate him. Every time he scores it seems like he's just there to guide the ball in.

The lads fantastic at what he does, I'm just glad he's at our club because what he does would piss me off if he wasn't

Not fussed about Leeds, Wednesday obviously would be perfection. Alternatively I'd quite like to see him hang his boots up with some form of win against Leicester so he could give Vardy some stick... maybe smash their corner flag up.

Tik a bew skip. Another (yes another) stand out performance.

Talk of testimonials and player coach roles need fucking right off.

PLENTY still in that tank.

And yet there will still be some young coked up daft twats out there that genuinely don’t know their arses from their elbows that say he was shit. Again 😂.

Beyond laughable !

Got to get a statue int car park.

Testimonials were a golden handshake for players who earned 6 shilling a week and travelled to and from games on the bus.

Billy Sharp doesn’t and won’t ever need a testimonial, I think he’s earned a contract extension though 🤔
Totally agree 1889...testimonials are for footballers from a bygone era...not today’s millionaires....a position on the coaching staff would appear to be just fine...

Wonder what odds you can get for one of Billys sons ending up playing for Sheffield United ??

Good question, pretty short I would imagine. You can see on videos his Dads posted, that he’s a natural footballer and if he’s inherited his Dads work ethic, I think you might even struggle to get someone to take your bet !

Testimonial’s seem like they’re from a bygone era but in reality that’s only because players don’t stick around at clubs for 10 years.

He deserves a day and as man of charity he make it all about his foundations. 25k people in the lane with all proceeds to his foundations who would begrudge him that??

He’s earned it..I don’t think the proceeds of a testimonial have gone into a players personal pocket since the early 90s

The last 2 big ones I can recall were Ryan Giggs who bought a boat with the proceeds, and Vincent Kompany who gave it all to Manchester children’s charities.
The latter seems a better bloke.

Not sure that will surprise many 😂. Although If I was to defend him there was a fair few years difference between them, looking into it seems someone started telling these guys in the mid 2000s that maybe donating the proceeds to charity would be a better look.. recall Shearer had a testimonial with NSPCC and Bobby Moore fund amongst the beneficiary’s that was around 05/06

I totally agree a charity gig would be ace
If it couldn't be against Donny, Southampton seem to hold him in high regards with them posting a Happy birthday tweet with him scoring twice against Portsmouth which for them I am sure was great.
