just seen on bbc sport website and the sheffield star that billy wantsto stay at the lane and snubbed a move to burnley. he as told kb he wants to fight is way in to the starting 11

would love to see him do well for us but we are not the right side for him

he will only go back out on loan halfway through the season to donny again just watch

fuk him off and get a mill for him and bring in a decent player who will do us proud!!!

top six next season

1.boro
2.sheff u
3.forrest
4.qpr
5.hull
6.cardiff

hope so :D

Yeah this is bad news I think. Much as I would love him to succeed at the Lane I doubt its going to happen, he won't even be in the usual starting 11, then we'll lose him for nothing next summer. We probably need that million to bring in Simmo or Nos.

I can't imagine him wanting to leave being a blade and all that, but your right that he won't get a place in KB's side because we don't play to Billy's strengths :(, would love to see him stay and do well but realistically shipping him off now and bagging the cash could be the best idea. Unless KB changes style, as the signings weve seen and are hearing about indicates possible change to come?

haha bbc i wouldn't mind seing that top six but if thats the top six at the end of the season ill eat my own arm.

It's a tough one this because while personally i'd love Billy to stay and prove himself because (tactics/style be damned- i'm convinced with a decent enough run in the team or a touch more luck he's more than capable of scoring a bundle in a Sheffield United shirt, heck even Henderson managed it for abit :-p) but obviously with the huge rebuilding task ahead of us and the situation with his contract combined with the active interest I was resigned to losing him to the point it was a foregone conclusion and I and I think many were already spending the money from it in their heads on Simenson's and Nosworthy's or similar needed players.

I have to say though I love the fact he'd rather try his luck and play for us once more and give it another go then do the easy thing take a pay-packet and move elsewhere for the sake, thats the commitment to the cause and spirit that should be applauded in this of all Summers, give the lad a fair shake and lets see what happens (extend his contract though for Goodness sake, if only to ensure a transfer fee if it doesn't work out - learn from mistakes past is all we ask)

We either need to ship him out so we can get some players in or extend his contract, but a LOWER wage & release clause - prob around 1.5 - 2m.
If he's a Blade as much as he says he is then lets see if he accepts reduced terms.
