Now that we have the noisy Welsh lot out of the way, concentration returns to our primary aim this season - that being the League.

We have 4 games, 3 at home, between now and the Spurs game, and to call them season defining is probably underplaying the run of games.

Swansea City @ Home
Current position - 13th
Form - WLWDL

As we know, Swansea love to keep the ball - but it hasn`t always been effective as their current position shows - as well as the result last time at BDTBL shows. Given the games upcoming, we have to be targeting this for a win, but that won`t be easy - whilst Swansea have only won 4 times on the road (in 15 games), they have equally only lost 4 times in those games.

Boro @ Home
Current position - 3rd
Form - WWLWW

I don`t think its an overstatement to suggest that this might be the biggest game so far this season - in terms of the opponent and relative positions. Realistically its probably a must win for Boro, and a must not lose for us. I'd happily take a point given where we are and the recent form that Boro have been in. Boro have only drawn one away game out of 15 this season, so very much feast or famine for them.

Millwall @ Away
Current position - 7th
Form - DWLWD

Only 2 defeats in the league at home for Millwall shows that this will be a tricky game - and I never like playing a league game so recently after a cup win. They are strong defensively at home (only 9 conceded). Depending on the results in the prior 2 games, a point may be fine here.

Watford @ Home
Current position - 5th
Form - WWDLD

If Watford's form continues to drop off as it has in the last three, this looks like an opportunity, if it picks back up it looks like another tricky game. Quite possibly a point is a good result.

Summary

Looking at the above, 6 or 7 points (as long as any defeat isn`t to Boro) is a really good return. 8 or 9 would be brilliant and leave us well placed heading into March.

Win 2
Draw 1
Lose 1
= 7 points

We always seem to play well and beat Middlesoboro when we play them at Bramall Lane.
If we only draw on Saturday then we'll beat Boro.
If we beat Swansea on Saturday then we'll draw with Boro.
My prediction Swansea WIN, Boro DRAW, Millwall LOSS and Watford WIN.

We're in a situation now with the big lead, where we no longer need a great run.
Just plodding along with a few wins, a few draws and the occasional loss should be enough.
Avoiding defeat against Boro, hopefully beating them, is key.

Win the next 4 and that's promotion sealed for me
agree with that, almost home and hosed in you win them 4. probs 18 points clear of 3rd minimum.

championship doesn't work like that normally though.

'My prediction Swansea WIN, Boro DRAW, Millwall LOSS and Watford WIN.'

i think this is quite likely as above. but probably beat us(boro) like mentioned you always beat us haha.

i'm hoping for us to win(obviously) at the lane. and then you drop points in another game and we win our all our games. pretty unlikely i know. but i dont want to lose hope of catching you up and be resigned to knowing its play offs at best. its more exciting to think that we can achieve something better. i honestly dont think it will be to hard for us to keep in the play offs now. cant see a massive drop off like we had under wilder. we just seem to be improving still. last season after the initial good run performances were getting worse all the time.

10-12 points

I think McAtee and Berge will continue to build on their form and given we are at home I think this plays against the weakness of the opponents.

I think we will win all the home games. Maybe narrowly but I think we will start to get into stride unless we end up with injuries once more.

Millwall, we may well draw. They will be better than they were in the cup, I reckon.

If we can get to 80 points by match 40 then we’ll probably find the chasers speaking in the realms of “mathematically” being able to catch us but in reality not.

I just think with a few players back in now that we are going to be extra professional in our performances. Also the likes of Ndiaye and McBurnie are due league goals and I think they’ll deliver. It was also good to get goals from Anel, Billy and Sander showing that we can get goals from all parts of the team and that these guys are also showing some form.

Two wins and two draws ought to be the minimum we aim for in these four games it is possibly just as important to avoid any defeats as it is to get wins. A good win on Saturday would be a good start the next three teams really need to come and beat us if they want to catch us so important not to lose against Boro or Millwall. I'm not sure Watford will trouble an auto spot this season play off's might be the best they can hope for. 8 pts would be OK any more would be mega, don't forget the chasing pack all have to play each other so will drop points somewhere.

I'd like to think that we can beat Swansea, draw with Boro, although a win is also possible, as is a loss!
We should beat Millwall and get a draw with Watford, although that game could go either way.
But knowing the Blades, it's more than likely not to go to script!

Its completely counter intuitive, but 8 points from these 4 might actually be better than 9 points - depending on where the defeat comes to get those 9 points.

Acceptable is win on Saturday, then get a minimum of three points by either being undefeated or beating Boro

we must not lose to boro a draw would be fine imo 4 points from these 2 home games keeps us bang on track

Throw in Spurs to that list and what a few weeks of football we have.

Ignore the takeover stuff, this is a proper month of football.

9 points from the next 3 and everyone behind us will shit their pants.

Once we get through to 70, the end will be in sight and all the pretenders will fall away.

But we could so do with some luck too.

Of late we've had cast iron penalties not given for us, penalties given outside the box given against us, someone grabbing an arm in Berge's case (Bergen Blade ), at least three instances of players having their shirts half to fully removed yet nothing given for shirt pulling. We've had an advantage to no advantage leading to a goal, a winning tackle ending up being a decisive through ball for the opposition, a couple of shots from Jebbo hit keepers that they knew little about.

For a team that has more efforts on goal than any other and therefore spends a lot of time near the oppositions goal and a team with dribblers Berge, N'Diaye, McAtee, we sure do get an awfully low amount of penalties compared to other teams.

It's time now for some good old fashioned luck to go out way. Step forward Ketih Stroud, an unlikely hero. It's your moment to shine! 😉

What a rousing speech! 👏😊
