Better again yesterday and nice to see Ched produce the minimum we should expect from a Sheffield United player week in, week out.
More effort, more presence, more value to the team though disappointing to see he still hasn't got it in him to do it for 90 minutes.
As for the rest, special mentions to the league's best right back (and in general the defence was excellent again), Harper (best performance so far) and Quinny (showing the ability he's got again).
Obviously there was a desperate pall of sadness hanging over Sheffield last night with 400,000 people feeling S6's pain but there still seemed to be a few pubs open for the remainder of us to raise a glass or two.

len, is that really you, not much negative in there, just a little back-handed compliment for Ched, which makes me wonder?

Kyle was absolutely outstanding yesterday, back to his best. One moment stood out for me and it was one which led to nothing, but was indicative of what he gives us.

It was in the second half, we were attacking down the left and the ball was crossed along the edge of their box. Williamson stepped over it assuming Kyle was coming down the right and would run on to it. He wasn't, he was close to the half way line and it looked certain that a Palace player would get across and pick the ball up. Kyle, who had twice as far to travel, got there first, astonishing pace and unbelievable effort.

Aye, remember the same moment. Thought he got stronger as the game went on and he was up against a decent player as well.
Don't get me wrong about Ched, that's the very least we should expect and worryingly the one time he was given a through ball he looked terrified and quickly lost control of the ball.
Great effort from Cresswell yesterday as well. He's a limited player but he puts a real shift in and not letting defenders settle allows some of the other more talented players to make their mark.

Great to see two midfielders who are both very comfortable in possession. I don't think they had much to compete against yesterday but I'll be disappointed if Monty gets back in, certainly in a 442 formation.

Can anyone explain to me what happened with that offside decision in first half when we had 3 men running through on goal? I can't get my head round who was offside and when and I honestly don't think the lino had a clue what was going on.

I think it was Ched who was given offside, I'm pretty sure Williamson was onside.

The linesman only flagged when Ched touched the ball and presumbaly if Wlliamson had picked it up, there would have been no flag.

I'd like an explanation of a different moment.

In the second half, one of our players was down injured just outside their box, can't rmremember who, the ref allowed play to continue. We attacked down the right and the linesman gave offside, Ched I think and the ref blew. In other words, he stopped paly for the offside flag.

Our injured player then had to go off when the game re-started, despite the game not having stopped for his injury.

Have I misunderstood the rule?

Generally agree with Len's original post, although not the insinuation that Ched was the only player who didn't play well on Tuesday.

Walker showed a marked improvement and looked back to why were were disappointed that he was included in the Naughton deal. Quinn had a good game although I do still think playing him on the left of a four means we only have any pace down the right.

Interesting to see you rated Cresswells performance yesterday as I thought he made the wrong decision on a number of occasions and then lost the ball when better options were available earlier but he wanted to go it alone.
It was also noticeable how much of a better play Ched looked when in the first half we got the ball down and played it on the floor. The guy rarely loses possession when we play it on the floor, the same goes for Harper, but they both look ineffective when we go longer.

Hopefully the manager will look at that side and those 15-20 mins in the first half and think that should be the way forward.

On a slightly separate note, would love to see Moses in a Blades shirt. For a kid he ran the show for them the only time they looked like troubling us.

Moses look excellent, until you realise that for all his possession and dangerous running, he didn't really hurt us at all. Maybe it was an off day, maybe he had nothing in front of him, but he did seem to flatter to deceive.

Indeed, but he had to do everything himself.

Would love him running down our left hand side.

He was playing a different game to the rest of the Palace team. If only he had someone to link up with we'd have been in trouble.

He'll go to a Prem club in January, no doubt whatsoever.

FB - Well that's it, he did seem to beat player after player and be no closer to goal, and I think you're right, it's because he got bugger all help.
