First time I’ve been to sfoke’s ground and like with so many other grounds you think how lucky are we having a ground in the centre of town with so many facilities close by. The ground being right by the motorway so not easily accessible from the recommended parking which was the other side of motorway. It was in a soulless, mainly unlit area with few police and stewards. Millwall fans probs have a field day when they come to town. No wonder most of the fans seem depressed and the area itself was the highest to vote leave in the referendum and they had that numbskull Jonathan Gullis as their MP. Awful place. Won’t be going back.

To be fair it's not that far from the old one. I'm not a fan though and remember a boxing day game the year it opened been a very naughty outside

There were blades everywhere that day. Some were in their side stand and we escorted to the away, but the away was full. 2-2 if I remember correctly.

Been there once that was enough.

When the stadium was first opened in 1997, traffic after games was a big problem and almost 30 years later nothing has really changed, but people have got used to it and don’t really complain.

When I was living just outside Stoke, I could get back from Bramall Lane 7.45 kick offs in time for last orders at the local, that’s 45 miles across country. On Monday, Trig Jnr (TE) was staying over with his Mum who still lives there and he just made it just before 11pm, a distance of 7.3 miles.

They voted to leave the EU, not leave the area 🤣

When we went last year we'd parked in Stoke centre.
But they have match buses runs to and from town, that there are plenty of.
Seemed ok going in, but massive queue coming back. Can't tell you the return journey tbh, because when we saw the queue we started walking to get a taxi, gave up due to the traffic carnage, and went back to the queue, which in fairness was very small by then. The bus has dedicated lanes to get in and out.

Easily one of the worst ‘new’ grounds I’ve visited. Not been for a few years mind, but I remember how bleak it is there.
Last time I went was back in 2007. Cahill winner in an awful Bryan Robson team. Was absolutely freezing too. Blades kept each other warm by having a fight amongst themselves in the away stand, with around 10 of them dressed as pirates.

It was one of the first new grounds I recall. I've never been myself but seen it countless times on TV. It always strikes me as fairly soulless but so are many of the others. I've been to Derby and Leicester's new grounds and the old ones were much better but obviously not capable of easy expansion. As others have said, thankfully that's not a problem for Bramall Lane which regularly gets voted best away ground.

It could have all been very different if Reg Brearley has got his way to turn Bramall Lane into an athletic track stadium! So pleased that never happened!

3 sided bowl then two massive gaps and roof at a different height? Looks shit and disconnected. Concourse was decent though, easy to get a beer and served quickly.

I thought one of the benefits of these out of town grounds was you could plan roads so the area clears quickly, the way we left was one road! What’s the saying, fail to plan, plan to fail

Stokes a shit hole!

I've seen many remoaners link anything bad with the world to Brexit, but the location of Stoke's ground is a new one on me
Think he is just pointing out the calculus of how many idiots are in one place and voting reform/Brexit and having Jonathan gullis as your member of parliament is a good indicator

Away end would be cold in mid summer. Proper wind tunnel.
I remember going to the last away match of the season some years ago. A lovely day in between the odd rain shower, but the stadium itself was as you say a wind tunnel. It seemed to funnel the wind towards the away section, and it was bloody cold. No wonder Stoke fans are miserable if it’s as cold in the rest of the ground as it is in the away area.
