On the no. 15. Gary Speed had a fairly easy victory, leaving the dream squad thus:

1. Paddy Kenny
2. Matt Lowton
3. Wayne Quinn
4. Nick Montgomery
5. Chris Morgan
6. Phil Jagielka
7. Michael Brown
8. Stuart McCall
9. James Beattie
10. Paul Peschisolido
11. Steve Kabba.
12. Alan Quinn
13. Simon Tracey
14. Wayne Allison
15. Gary Speed

On the no.14 run off for the nightmare squad, there was a battle royal between Carney and Nalis our Lilian winning narrowly, leaving that squad thus

1. Steve Simonsen
2. Daryl Westlake
3. Gary Flitcroft
4. Danny Higginbotham
5. Rob Kozluk
6. Nyron Nosworthy
7. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing
8. Anthony Stokes
9. James Thomas
10. Barry Hayles
11. Laurens Ten Heuvel
12. Brian Launders
13. Kristian Rodgers
14. Lilian Nalis

We need another run off for the no.15 on the nightmare side. Hamilton, Woodward (not that one), Thirlwell and Harper all got no votes and France got one comedy vote, so those go into the nightmare poll which is elsewhere.

Time for the no.16's. Designated nightmare candidates are Smeets and Forte. Thus anyone voting for those three will have their vote disallowed unless they justify it in the thread. It should also be noted that Forte wore 16 only for his loan spell last season and Peski only when he had a month's loan in 2000-01. So if you vote for them its for those periods only.

Players wore other numbers as follows:

Peschisolido: no.8 2001-02, no.10 2001-04
Ndlovu: no.8 2001
Francis: no.25 March-May 2004
Kilgallon: no.6 2008-10
McAllister: no. 24 2011, no.20 2011-12
Forte: no. 32 2004, no.21 2004-06

Cant see anyone other that Ndlovu winning this one, although Killa would be the only other person on that list worth voting for...

I'm working on the assumption that Andy Taylor is the "missing name" (or your counting is seriously shit!).

I copied and pasted from the last one and meant two for this definitely crap list (whereas there was three on the last one).

Whilst Taylor was pretty hopeless, I didn't think he was so bad that someone could not validly think he was better than Ndlovu (perhaps a 10 year old who never saw Ndlovu play...)

Do 4 people really think that Peski's one month on loan in Jan-Feb 2001 was better than Ndlovu's 3 years?

Got to be Nuddy!

Mainly for the time when he was stood right on the touchline and a pass went over his head to he just leaned forward, stuck his leg up and kind of heeled in back in to play.

But also for all the other times he skinned 2 or 3 players and smashed it high and wide in to the stand.

I do.

I thought he brightened the team up the moment he arrived (also I missed number 1 -14 so not sure if I'd have voted for him in any other number).

However, that must be balanced with the fact I didn't rate Ndlovu at all. A lot of promise and little delivery in my view.

Taylor will be my vote for worst. A truly woeful player. Absolutely terrible in the Championship and awful in League One. He was slow, had poor positional play, did not work hard and his distribution was gash. Plus I will never forgive him for his penalty miss. He was brought on just to take a penalty. Surely that meant the twat had been practising?! He was a massive embarassment to the Blades shirt and fully wants being in the worst squad.

I might have voted for Killa if it was his whole period at SUFC. However in 2007-8, after joinging in Jan from Leeds, I thought he struggled. He was much better after we dropped down into the Championship. I actually think that Kilgallon is of Premiership ofquality, when he applies himself. He is quick, reads the game well and is a solid centre half. His attitude must be the issue though, as he is a bit of journeyman and has not taken his chances at the top level.

I voted for Nuddy, as he was the best of a bad bunch. I thought he was a bit overrated and inconsistent. No question of his ability, but thought he was hit and miss. A player of his quality should have achieved more. I remember him being a real handful for Coventry, but thought he flattered to deceive somewhat at United. Don't get me wrong, he had some good games and gave us some good memories, but his period was slightly disappointing for me.

What happens when we get to 17? From memory, it's been used by younger players cementing their places and Jagielka's performance in 2002-03 was behind my choice of 17 in my first Uni squad - my preferred #4 had been taken by a bigger boy.

I can only think of four players who have worn #17 - Bromby, Jagielka, Montgomery and Cresswell and two of those are already in the squad. Darren - what's the contingency (is there one) for players appearing twice?

I was thinking about this when I was doing my ironing :-)

The players who wore 17 are:

Kachuro
Asaba (3 months towards the end of 2000-01)
Jagielka (2001-04)
Bromby
Montgomery (2005-09)
Hendrie (beginning of 2009-10 but didn't play)
Cresswell
Coady

As you pointed out, Jags and Monty are already in the team and it seems to me that will get all but a few votes. What I will do is ask people who vote for Jags or Monty to post their 2nd and 3rd choices in the thread. In the likely event that PJ and NM get 1 and 2, I will then add up the points for the others on the basis of 3 for a first choice, 2 for a 2nd choice and 1 for a third choice and that will give us our squad member.
