Thought up a thread to pass some time whilst we wait for the season start tomorrow.
Excluding any current injuries and assuming we sign one centre back.
More the line-up we might be seeing around November/December time I think.

I'll begin:

Long
Brayford, New CB, Collins, Freeman
Done, Basham, Wallace, Murphy
Sharp, Adams

Ive not seen Sammon yet, so mine is the same team but with Done up there with Sharp.
Doesn't sound like captain McEveley is getting dropped any time soon though

Long/Howard (same)
Brayford Mceveley Kennedy Freeman
Woolford Baxter Basham Murphy
Adams Sharp

Mceveley wil obviously play, he is captain now. Adams, if he plays, has to be as a central striker and Baxter is our most talented player IMO so can't be left out.

However, let's not forget horses for courses. Our 'best team' will absolutely depend on the fixture and the opposition. That's the team I'd play at home against a minnow side, however when it comes to a physical side away from home a different personel/formation may be required.

We tend to think in terms of the traditional eleven players but it's not anymore is it, and it can be just as much about who he brings off the bench as his first eleven

Long, Brayford, Wallace, McEverley, Freeman, Basham, Wallace, Baxter/Coutts, Done, Sharp, Murphy.

I worry about a 4-4-2 midfield if one of the central midfielders is Baxter, Scougs or Reed.

Basham and J. Wallace are really the only solid comb for that formation, but Wallace will do well to play twenty games.

Hope you're right mate 3 tomorrow and 87 to go

I think 90 will be enough for promotion aswell with this seasons standard being that bit less.

GK - Howard
RB - Brayford
CB - Kennedy
CB - McGahey
LB - Freeman
CM - Reed
CM - Basham
RW - Done
AM - Murphy
LW - Adams
ST - Sharp

This is what I'd like to see when everyone is fit & healthy and we play at home. A sort of 4-2-3-1 but with Done, Murphy & Adams being able to alternate between the positions during the game.

Sorry for my intellectual level but what does 'FTP' mean? Seen it a few times and still haven't managed to fathom it.

Fuck the pigs?

Could be right but Baxter looked good there preseason, using his class on the ball and spreading it about. Seems really fit too.

To quote Van Gaal. 'This season shall be the season of Jose Baxter.'

Not one person has picked the Same team so far. Shows we've some good options - although we could do with a cb.

Howard
Brayford Collins jay Freeman
Bash Wallace
Adams Baxter Murphy
Sharp

Still got pretty of good options on the bench too.

Opinion will chamge thru the season on form but would love to see 433 at Gillingham of & (* begrudgingly as hes captain)
Long
Brayford Collins Mceveley* Harris
Scougall Basham Wallace
Adams Sharp/done Murphy

yes getting 90 points and not going up is very very very rare
Id take us only getting
90 points now

rare? 3 out of last 4 seasons

2014/15
Bristol City - 99
Mk Dons - 91

2013/14
Wolves - 103
Brentford - 94

2011/12
Charlton - 103
Pigs - 93
These teams all went up.

Getting 90 points and not going up is so rare I think it's only happened twice. The other time was Sunderland in '98, also losing a playoff final on penalties.
