I am afraid I have been a naughty boy. This morning my godson Harry played for Hull city U10 against SW U10 at mentalwood . I was invited along to watch , and much to his Dad’s amazement I said I would. I managed to wear a Blades top ( though quite a subtle one) and enjoyed watching him score 3 goals in 2 matches on the way to 2 wins. His dad helped me get in a few mentions of pigs, gaps and 4-2 during polite conversation with the parents round us. Stupid porcine parents couldn’t quite get the hang of what was going on . I enjoyed it more than I should have. The football was very entertaining and the kids showed a lot of ability. I was told that some of the better Wednesday players had come over from the MUFC academy after they had a bit of a clear out. Also that we had taken loads of kids from Huddersfield when they shut down the kids teams.
The Hull chaps are not impressed with madkins and expect another relegation battle. The kids teams had been told to change formations to match the first team. All the boys are sent lengthy text messages after each game telling them where they went wrong and how they could improve. Even though they are doing quite well . They thrashed our lot when they played them.
I did not listen to anything the Wednesday parents said as I had zero interest . I just looked at their dissapointed faces and felt a bit smug.
