I for one HOPE he keeps EEL out.

I shudder when I think back to some of the earlier comments about EEL - thanks goodness Wolves have given him a 3.5 year contract.

I did say today, imagine if we'd played this back 3 all along, would we have dropped the same points?

Wright, O'Connell and Basham were phenomenal today...

Yes. Basham should stay in the team. I also thought Jake Wright was again immaculate. (I missed their goal as I was stuck in the queue for the bog).

I thought the whole Back three were exceptional today, so calm on the ball as well.

Dithered too much in dangerous positions for my liking. Shame as he started to look vaguely adequate against Peterborough and Bristol Rovers.

Still not good enough, neither are Lafferty or "future captain" O'Connell actually.

As ever, Jake Wright carries the defence.

Sorry mate, going to disagree with you on O'Connell again. He didn't miss a header all game and his tackling was as ferocious as ever.

You're right about Wright (pun intended!). He never shut up all game and was shouting at everybody. Love that!

The goal was probably Flecks fault he dove in on the side line missed the tackle and left the full back two against one.

However it was Flecks run straight from the re-start that set up the move for the equaliser.

Sorry Tyler, but you really need to get over this thing you've got against O'Connell. He's not pinched your bird or run over your cat has he? I thought he, along with Basham and Wright, was excellent today. God only knows why the boss took him off to bring Done on with two minutes remaining, which coincided with the Scunts most dangerous passage of play.

Bashams 100% commitment is commendable, made some great runs, terrific tackles, but still prone to making mistakes around the box, Wrighty was immense and o'connell very cultured .Struggle with Lafferty though his final ball is terrible, but we get better results with him in the team, needed to come off much earlier today.Only negative
On what was an excellent 90 minute performance, the likes of Jose Baxter seems a distant memory now, thank Christ.

After the absolute crud we have seen at the back since Harry.

It's so good to have at least 4 solid defenders. Wright is the glue holding it all together, improves all the others who have less experience at the back than him

I thought he was awesome.....but so were the rest.

A great team performance today!
I can't disagree with that mate, a tremendous effort all round we seemed to punch them out and by the last quarter they'd gone.

But I think Basham was immense from start to finish, talk about wearing his heart on his sleeve. Considering he was becoming the whipping boy he ain't half answered his critics. UTB.

I was his biggest critic but he's raised his game and I too will happily eat some of that humble pie

Bash was indeed immense today.
He's not a midfielder he is definitely a right sided central defender as I have allus said. He was absolutely superb today.

Have to say that this defence is glued by Jake Wright - still undefeated in a Blades shirt. He makes everyone tick and gives the licence for Fleck, Coutts, Duff and Carruthers to do their stuff.

How good was Carruthers when he came on? Different gravy.

What Bash has done....is responded to a spell on the bench, took his chance when presented and made himself undroppable.
By god he runs, puts his body on the line and would die for the cause.
As much a future legend as Bob booker became.

An absolute fucking colossus today. Him O'Connell & Wright were a different class. We could have played until next Sunday & they wouldn't have had a sniff at goal.

Basham was comfortably MOM this afternoon, with Coutts coming second IMO. We look such an assured unit in midfield with that guy in the middle of the park. Fleck tends to get a lot of the plaudits (quite rightly too) but Coutts is one of my favourite players in a very long time. We're lucky to have him & Fleck dominating midfields for a laugh.

Brilliant result for United today with Scunny dropping another bollock. God it feels good to be a blade right now.
