Looks like yet another week gone and another fitness test and the ongoing "close to a return", but GB still won't be available for Brizzle :(

"George Baldock was expected to be available for selection for the trip to the Lions, however, the United manager has confirmed that his wing-back remains close to a return, with the match against the Robins coming too soon."

:-(

Such a shame because we have two excellent right backs, when fit. It doesn't seem sensible to pursue one in Jan when we really could do with spending the money elsewhere but it is leaving us short at the moment, pulling players out of preferred positions and also losing our natural attacking threat on that side which is so important to how we play.

It’s bollocks hack reporting isn’t it? Tufty hasn’t said any such thing. That’s not to say GB will play, of course.

Chris does say "He's close" but doesn't say the Brizzle game has come too soon so fingers crossed for tonight.

He was taken off against QPR as a precaution with reported tightness in the hammy.

Such a long layoff suggests the problems are more involved than that. Worrying for a player who looks so promising.

It's just shit journalism. Obviously meant to put Lions to describe Millwall but mistakenly put Robins.

I’m not sure that piece says he’s not fit buddy, and TBH why would Wilder want to let Brizzle know if he is?

That said, a freezing night game might nor be the best time for him to return and see if his hamstring ok now, but then again how many games are not going to be pretty taters at this time of year?

“with the match against the Robins coming too soon” suggests he’s not yet fit. Not saying it’s true, but it’s in the article. Didn’t get said by Wilder, so not sure where the opinion is coming from.

We will see tonight, but I interpreted that statement by the "hack" as a quote or at least that CW inferred that

I hope he starts, as we need to be as close to full strength as we can be

Fingers crossed then? We need his pace to deal with their pace. I fear a make shift right back could get owned tonight. His pace would force them onto the defensive too.

Yep I saw that B58 and just read it that he’s got his games mixed up, as the paragraph below seems to make it clear that he’s just quoting from the club’s OS. Anyway, fingers crossed, we definitely need GB back and playing regularly mate. UTB

Where is Nathen Thomas, surely he could play down the right??

I'm lost?, from wot I've seen of Thomas, he can play both sides??

Wonder if Chris will be channelling his inner Adkins, getting ready for George's return, by inviting us to get on board the Baldockcoaster?

... No, no he won't.
