....4th place at the end of October.

I know i would have been, as after this was expected to be a transitional season for the Blades.

I would have been if i didn't know we have thrown 6 points away with stupid sloppy goals that could have been prevented

Wendesday. Orient and Exeter should have all been wins putting us on 35pts and 2nd place

4th at this stage is fine. We know we could have been higher, but feared we'd be much lower.

However, after seeing the standard of L1 and how close we are to being a successful team (maybe 3 players and a bit of confidence), its tempting to think that we could push on to greater heights, the piggies position above us pretty much demands that we think like that, but is it fair and reasonable when we've actually changed little from the squad that got beaten every week last season..?

Happy yes, I thought we'd be in more of a transitional stage and hoped we'd assess the fringe players, like Tonne, McAllister a bit more this year. Having said that I thought we might have lost other bigger earners.

But same as Iggle, having seen the points we've dropped I'm a little disappointed. Also agree that we are only a few more players away from being a successful team as Dunc says.

The real danger for me is that if we don't go up this season, we'll be forced to completely rebuild next season. I'd like to have seen more of McAllister, Conneely, Tonne, Harriot and Philiskirk but then I'm not at the training ground every day so can't judge them relative to the rest of the squad.

Had it a year, have to go through the rules exam every year to maintain competancy though

Ah, OK. I saw that you were revising but didn't know that it was the annual check up. Good luck with that feller.

You could strike so they have to get rid of that rule.....;)

But yes, i would have been well happy with it, but as above, it's galling to know how much higher we could have been.....

Suppose 11 blokes stood in an area the size of a football pitch could look like a 'few'

I'm surprised we are where we are - I put £25 quid on us being relegated as insurance. We are in a season of transition though and the next 2 will be as well. Won't really get the head room to clear out the ridiculously overpaid dead wood until the end of next season.

Happy with 4th in the knowledge that League 1 "will be tougher than we think" - according to our Piggie neighbours in the close season. Christ, they must have been really crap last season with how they performed......

This league is parp, and we should piss it.......but unfortunately we have sunk to its level.
