Are you starting to get that L1 feeling.............

Wouldn't quite call it euphoric feelings, just genuine sings that we have for now replaced Coutts with someone else that gives the team it's balance back and allows other players to perform at a higher level of belief.

Any thoughts about what we should sing to foster this new found belief?

unfortunately the song "we ain't got a barrel of money.........." is still applicable.

Just need our manage to pull another rabbit out of the hat in the form of a striker.

We can go with this squad, but we have but we MUST have an extra body up top.

PS: I'll try harder at speeling next time.

For whatever reason, whether it was because we couldn’t afford to or because we decided not to, we didn’t properly replace Coutts. Other teams faced with the same situation, would’ve brought in a like for like replacement, there & then.
Players like that are very few and far between. Consequently they cost mega-bucks. Those clubs that have mega-bucks can do it. For us to pull it off as CW has done smacks of bloody good business and top drawer management too. This signing surely gives both Wilder and our owners some considerable slack when our fickle fans look around for the next neck to go into the noose. Christ....... I'm glad I wasn't a member of the Roman Senate surrounded by those blood-thirsty politicos. I suppose football fans are pretty mild by comparison so I shouldn't get too upset by their posturing.

Before we lost Coutts we were flying. Without him we were less than average. Gradually the doom merchants lost faith and hope, and at the same time Billy became a year older and could no longer cut it at this level. Clarke also got slower, older and no longer motivated. We brought in another ageing injury-prone striker who didn't have any pace either. Wilder got found out at this level too. He needed to ditch Stevens; he needed to ditch Basham etc........

The transfer window was another wasted opportunity. Our owners again failed to open their wallets to help bail out our manager.

THEN.................. Paul Coutts V2.0 in the shape of Oliver Norwood replaces Lee Evans, and all the observations by these intelligent soccer analysts is back put into perspective. Probable conclusion............they were talking Bollocks after all.

You conveniently omitted the other two factors. Binning Lundstram and resurrecting Sharp.

Whilst we're at it you'll have to introduce me to the people in favour of ditching Basham because I'm fucked if I know of any.

Clarke could still do with a "rest" though

The Basham Bashers caught me off-guard too, but I guess all sense tends to get thrown out of the pram when your team looks a pale shadow of its former self and you start to get the League One return-ticket-jitters. I didn't "conveniently" omit two other factors; I chose not to ramble on about the many other factors for our loss of form - someone like Deadbat could write a best-seller about them. As for Clarke, he may well be in need of a rest but I'll leave that to CW and I think we should trust him to make the right call; he certainly deserves our confidence in him doing just that based on his record thus far.

That lazy bastard Clarke who cleared one off the line at 2-0 and then dummied their keeper for Freemans goal and looked up for it until picking up an injury in the first half.
