Anyone remember anything about; Sheffield United 4-2 Bournemouth 1990?

In my opinion, this was a forgotten famous game that no1 talks about unfortunately. I remember the big pitch invasion at the end and I'm pretty sure it was the last home game of THAT season. Anyone else remember it and the goal scorers? Wish there were pics of that game

Very little unfortunately. I was invited there as a guest by Dormer Tools and got myself in a terrible state pre-match at the Dormer bar......Another customer of theirs was a Bournemouth fan who certainly wasn't impressed with my jumping on him each time we scored....wasn't invited again.

Not much. All I can remember is we won and Cadette looked better for them than he had when he played for us. Couldn't even remember the pitch invasion.
I also seem to think I was in the South Stand which I can't understand. Was there an offer on?

It is one of very few home games I have missed, others include Brighton 5-4, the memorable Sunderland match Borbokis made his debut and we won . The 7-3 at home to someone (was it Port Vale?) in the 4th division

We had a good goal disallowed. The ball came of a Bournemouth player and it was put away but lino disallowed. It for off side

When I saw this thread, I had forgotten who scored our third goal so I had to look it up when I came home. Bryson scored twice at the Lane End in the scrappy game. Either Richard Cadette or Luther Blissett (they scored one each but I forget in which order) pulled one back for the Cherries before the break. Early in the 2nd half Agana didnt connect a high ball properly but Cherries keeper Gerry Peyton made a wrong decision as he stood helplessly to watch the ball bounce slowly into the net. Bournemouth scored again to make it 3-2 before made the game safe with a header after a flick on from a throw in. There wasnt a pitch invasion as the players took a lap of honour applauding the fans

There wasn't a pitch invasion that I remember. There was for the Swansea 5-1 last home game the year before, the first I'd witnessed.

At that point many of us were not even entertaining the thought that the other lot from across the city might get relegated as I saw a few Blades sporting t-shirts that said, "Wednesday here we come!". Wonder what they did with them one week later? Apart from donate them to charity shops in the S6 area so that the odd grunter could wipe away his tears.

At Leicester I saw a bloke with a t-shirt saying "The Blades are going up!" on the front and "Wednesday here we come" on the back, with 'CANCELLED' emblazoned across the latter.
