Anthony Edgar

What are the chances of him getting a start before Oxford? Fair bit of trickery and pace, might give our side some of the creativity we so desperately need. Couldn't hurt none after last weeks performance.

Re: Anthony Edgar

To be honest I don't know what we have to loose if we play him against Bolton. Villa used Albrington on his debut against us.So why not Edgar against Bolton. If he plays against Oxford he'll be expecting it but against Bolton a surprise and will hopefully take it like a great opportunity. Rather him and fail than Boa Morte or Diamanti.

will at least start as sub vs oxford and will definately come on at some point

Re: Anthony Edgar

very attack minded, decent touch, got the skills, both footed, works hard, direct but as mentioned on here don't excactly pace himself

only downside is knowing what his position actually is, it's a bit like taarabt at QPR, if given a 'free-role' plays well but when having to be disciplined as part of a formation then not so sure

Here here.

Maybe not our best 11. I'd like to see Cole and Parker rested, and Daprela given a run out. But ultimately we need to put out a team to win as comfortably as possible.

With the reduced ticket prices, a lot of people are going to be giving up their evenings to go and watch. Also, the cups represent our only real chance of any joy this year. I'll be happy with mid-table obscurity in the league, but a cup run would be nice to give us a bit of a buzz.

Re: Anthony Edgar

I want us to start our best available team against Oxford, not a bunch of kids.

If we are wining comfortably, then bring him on.

Re: Anthony Edgar

He was very lively vs Southend. Lots of running and a good engine. Was the one injecting pace and getting things going. In my view he looks like he has a lot of promise but clearly lacks experience and discipline in terms of positioning etc.

Better than I thought he would be although it was against Southend...

Re: Anthony Edgar

Seen him a few times, he doesn't stand out and from what i have seen doesn't offer that much more than Stanislas. Has time on side to improve, but don't get carried away with this fella, the best crop are a couple of years down the line.

Re: Anthony Edgar

He is good, but doesnt pace his game,
But hehas some unigue talents,he needs to be given a free role eventually

Re: Anthony Edgar

Has anyone actually seen the kid play? What's he like? Pacey? Tricky? Good crosser? A bit lightweight? How does he compare to Stanislas?

Re: Anthony Edgar

yea think just oxford, i look forward to seeing him, someone else said about Villa taking a punt on Albrighton, i'd like to see us do that as well altho not sure our lad is as good as him

Re: Anthony Edgar

He wont get a start before Oxford. No way. I don't even think he'll start against Oxford.

He looks a nifty little player, but I think we'll start with the more experiences Stanislas, especially after his performance against Millwall in the the competition last year.

I'm sure Edgar will get some game time though.

I expect something like:

Green
Spector Gabbidon Upson Daprela
Behrami Kovac Noble
Stanislas Piquionne Boa Morte

Re: Anthony Edgar

He is almost certainly a starter V Oxford

Anyone see him today? I assume if he played 90 minutes he's on trial, which would imply he'll be a freebie in the summer?

Promising kid who could be worth a punt. Yes, Reid was a flop, but, you have to keep searching for that golden ticket!!!!

Is he a winger or a central midfielder? I assume if he's pacey he's out wide. Heaven knows we need wide men as Yeates will be off and he's our only out and out wide player.
