Hi I am Richard ex BU.
Whats in an alias? Well Blade Fisher is actually the name of my boat and nothing to do with my name. I expect I am the only Blade that has sailed to away games ! Gillingham, Portsmouth, Southampton, Ipswich, Norwich etc. We have a big cruising shute with the Blades logo on surrounded by the name Blade Fisher.
I admit to being more glass half empty than full and feel semi-permanently aggrieved that Utd's record since supporting them back in the 60's is so dire !
Best game. My first away game at Portsmouth. 0-0 half time, final score Pompey 1 Utd 5 Sep 1970. However Utd 3 Leeds 0 1971 was probably best home game. 40,000+ and we were fantastic.
Worst game, ooh too many to remember but for sheer depression probably losing 6-0 at Colchester or whatever it was in the old Fourth division. Mind walked out of a few too, remember Reading in about 1987 whan DB in charge and subsequently saw us relegated at Bristol City in my first of the play off nightmares.
Best/favourite player: Woody. Just brilliant, wondered at times how he never bust the net. Worst player: Where do you start. Richardson the goalie I suspect.
Hey ho. Beginning to wonder will they ever win something or a play off final?
