If Collins had played Saturday then the mix up that lead to LJF injury would not have happened. The sequence of events that lead to us loosing an entire established back four would not have happened. It became clear to me how much understanding our defence had together before, when on Saturday Maguire got the ball and looked to play towards his partner but could not because Ertl was too far up and Maguire had to play to Simmo.
We're all praying for Collins to return. Perhaps if we pray for his child this may work better and give us a thought about what is important?

To be fair you can't predict this situation could of happened.

Although I have always felt we had poor cover at the back even if one player was missing never mind all 4.

Its all down to Cresswells inexplicable own goal v Oldham. That lead to the Lowton booking, that lead to the first sending off. We would have won that game and then had Maquire and Lowton available v Walsall.

Been saying to miserable Wendyites (prior to the derby), that we're only a disrupted back-four away from disaster. It's been that way for a long time.

Have to agree JD. The fact we had to get two defenders in last minute has cost us really. Had we had them here already then they would have trained with us for a while, got used to how we do things and could have even been on the bench to assist in the Oldham game. We've been short at the back for a while, i suspect it's not Danny's fault and more likely a tightening of the purse strings at board level, hoping we didn't see any defensive losses. It's clearly backfired.

We could be 2, 4 or even 6 points better off by now if we'd already had reinforcements in the squad.
