Alcock, unfair criticism, or one of our worst ever players?

However bad Alcock is, he's guaranteed a start due to lack of cover. We ever tried Flynny at right back? I think he'd do alright there.
I'd also like to see Flynny tried their,Flatulent_Bob keeps mentioning it also and i agree.

I think the ideal time to play him there is against one of the so called lesser sides in the division or the cup game against Plymouth. He played the same kind of role against Cambridge in the cup last year, and don't get me wrong(with all due respect)it was only Cambridge but he still did a good job there,it's certainly something to have a look at while we're a bit short there or until Alcock gets his form back.

We also have Basham who i could see having no problem playing there, especially while Cloughy is forcing McCarthy into the starting line up:rolleyes:

On the brightside, I won the sweepstake in the Pukka Pies Stand, in which minute would Alcock pass a ball forward to a United player. I think it was the 35th minute :(

Seriously tho, yes he had a mare on saturday, doesn't everyone now and then. I think there are bigger issues than Alcock having a dodgy game.

It may be an old fashioned view, but the primary task of a defender is to defend. Alcock's distrubution was dreadful, Ibehre dragged McCarthy and McCleveley all other the place on saturday, and yet how many saves did Howard actually have to make?

The defence is the least of our problems.
