I cannot remember an occasion before where an opposition player has been red carded and then leaves the field to a standing ovation from the Blades fans. Amazing.
Not sue about him as a CB. Loved him as a player for us and am sure CW/AK could get him playing well if we signed him but would he get in our team at the moment?

He'd be better cover in midfield than the likes of Carruthers now we are looking at 4 yellows for Coutts and Fleck.

Wonder if we can afford that £375k now?

Probably not ... never saw him as a CB myself either but he has done his job for the season ... just signed a new contract as well to help with the subterfuge

Man in pub say's Coady not all together happy with playing CB either...

get him in and alongside the central two, He's probably that extra midfield/ centre half we're missing

Nice shout Swiss - think there'd be a few who could see him fitting nicely (again) into the red & white striped shirt (that I think he maybe had on under the gold one last night.....) Strong & flexible cover in midfield who could play a few roles well imo.
He'd have to come & play for his place - though what a selection headache to have. Let's see what January brings.

If we had him he would probably have been playing where Basham has for the last two games.

But I'm not sure we could have planned to play that way regularly, because it's reliant on Brooks playing and splitting Duffy's role with that of a second striker. I don't think it would work as well with two out and out strikers or one attacking midfielder behind a striker. Even now we can't assume we'll be playing this way every game so signing Coady might not have been the best way to spend our budget at this time, as good as he is.

So it would've probably been hard to commit to paying decent money for Coady because aside from the above role, it's hard to see where he'd slot in.

Our bid for him seemed odd at the time. Club captain and regular first teamer and had just signed a new contract. You wonder what was going on behind the scenes. We had just signed Stearman. Would Stearman be telling CW that Coady not entirely happy at Wolves? Is that how things work? It's the only explanation I can think of to explain what happened.
As GB says let's see what might happen in JTW.

I think he see's himself in the 'Stevie Gerrard' mold....

I wonder if that's why we did two late deals for centre halves? Couldn't get a CM that would suit us so decided to add to the defence knowing it would allow us to move Bash into midfield when needed.

I find it bizarre that he's playing centre half - though by all accounts he's started the season well.

He's a very good player who covers a lot of ground. He would definitely be a great addition to the squad in a central area (doing what Basham did yesterday), and he would be great cover for Fleck and Coutts.

Not gonna happen though. Wolves don't need to sell, he's their captain and he's just signed a new contract.

Yep, I think so. Heneghan was a surprise, we weren't expecting a CB on deadline day. I don't think we'd have gone for him at this stage if we'd signed a central midfielder permanently.

Who saw basham as a centre half, poor midfielder, gets put into central defence, looks like he's played there all his life, maybe coady is the same?
