I love this saying. The amount of times at away games where Blades start trading insults and there is always one person who loves to pop up and say "eh eh lads, we're all blades aren't we?" only for both of them to turn on this man of peace.

Isn't it more of a Wednesday thing this? Not the blades bit obviously, but you know what I mean.

Prefer a "eeza blade and eeza blade", not heard that in a while though

It's a Wednesday thing, I don't like it.
For me too I can't stand it.

Like Bramley I know it isn't the cleverest but I like the eeza Blade.

I think someone posted on a thread a while back its the way you see someone wearing something to associate them to United and it just pops in your head. "Nah Nah Nah Nah eeza Blade and eeza Blade".
Still makes me smile every time I do it.

Not just you at all. Just the same as the Johnny Cash thing. Whilst I have a lot of respect for the Man In Black, the pigs did it first, so I refuse to join in. Actually, I don't. I sing "It's a fucking piggy song" to its tune.

You know what I cannot stand Blades singing the Boxing Day thing. I refuse to sing it as ITS JUST ABOUT THEIR MOST GLORIOUS WIN OVER US.
I was there and am fed up of being reminded of it by my own fellow Blades in song.
We don’t sing about 7-3 to us in 1951 so why highlight their glory.
Forget that tune and let’s start something new and original.

That is also a good point. That said, I've sung it myself regularly. The only justification is akin to 'reclamation' of a word, and that's a flimsy argument.

Another thing, COYRAWW is our's and always has been. Wendie piggy's use it odd times with blue obviously and praise and grumble the pratts have seen fit to use a piggy's voice in their opening sequence. They Know nothing about tradition if they did they'd have researched this.

The Johnny Cash thing isn't particularly Wednesday - I heard at least Derby County sing it before them. It's just one of those songs that everyone seems to have.

Much like 'hark now hear'. I don't think that this celebrates their victory though, more justifies our 'hatred' of them. I'm happy to sing it, and always think it sounds stupid when they sing it. They won; why would they then want to fight us?

I would be interested if anyone had any idea of the provenance of 'Hello, hello, we are the Shoreham boys' though. I used to think that this was a Blades invention that was stolen by just about every other team in the land, but I'm sure now that this can't be the case. Has anyone got any ideas?
