Schneiderlein hasn't and won't be tracking Adkins' performance with us. So he definitely won't be aware of how many managerial basics have been ignored. He's going on an experience he had as a player, which will have been conditioned by the double promotion, the actual responsibility for which being misunderstood.

To be able to comment on a managers current performance, you need to have been evaluating what needed to have happened with summer transfer recruitment against what has actually happened to be able to make a reasonable comparison of each. It's a much better base to be able to sit your opinions and judgements on. And unless he's a supporter, he won't have done any of that.

I would say Adkins isn't turning it around belatedly. We have been on a downwards tilt ever since relegation from the premier league. It turns a while to change the mentality of a whole football club.
