Greasy chip bittee, sound like some scruffy fat woman's sweaty breast.

I'm sure one thing that all incoming managers do is highlight that they'd like the squad fitter. I certainly remember Clough saying they weren't fit enough and that one of his entourage would whip them into shape. I can also recall the procession of other managers bemoaning the fitness of the squad as well.

I honestly don't see how professional footballers can be unfit so I think it's largely a new manager trying to have a go at what's been before him. They all have sport science experts, nutritionists and conditioning coaches and I would say that unless they have a crazy new method, that they all do a similar thing.

Brayford, Harris, McGahey, JCR, Flynn, Baxter and Done were the other seven.
NONE of them arrived in an injured state and none of them had a track record of persistent injury problems.

Didn't Done miss the first couple of game after signing because of injury?

Should have stuck with Weir eh? Grow a brain for fucks sake.

Yeah read what I said and it's pretty accurate we do have unfit players. Clough signed at least 3 players that were not fit to play when he signed them.

But yes it would have been great to keep Weir as manager.

I think the reason why we appear to have more injuries is that we now have a manager who without being disrespectful to Clough has an infinitely greater understanding of Physiotherapy, and as a result of that appears a lot more reluctant to rush players back too soon from injury and run the risk of of a player worsening the injury in the long term, or the injury becoming chronic. Last season we at various parts of the season we saw Howard, J Wallace, Kennedy in and out of the side with injuries, often playing 1 games, then missing the next couple with reoccurring injuries.

Didn't Done miss the first couple of game after signing because of injury?

Yes, fair enough he did but that's not the reason he's out with injury now.
As discussed previously, it's difficult to blame Clough for Done landing awkwardly on his shoulder/collar bone and breaking it.
Personally, I think that Done has already shown enough to suggest that his signing was a risk worth taking.

interestingly i don't think positive nige has trotted this one out yet has he? maybe i missed it

I don't think he's come out and said the specific words "I'd like the team fitter" but he made a few comments in pre-season about them getting fit that suggested he wasn't impressed with their fitness levels. I would imagine walking into a dressing room and seeing Higdon and Baxter sat there in last seasons shape would make any manager wonder what the previous bloke was up to!
